We had the good fortune of connecting with Arthur Calloway II and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Arthur, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
That your success is based on your team as a whole and it is a constant effort to ensure your team feels appreciated and compensated.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am most proud of organizing an event named Let me catch my breath honoring George Floyd in the summer of 2020. The goal of the event was to reflect on what happened and to encourage everyone to vote for the saftey of the entire community. I got where I am today co-founding Vote Your Power Back with Jeff Bomberger by working with incredible community advocates, Matt and Sarah Luker owners of Transplants, Christian Green founder of Gerri’s Place, Ayinde Love founder of Gifted Arts and Activism, Monzelle Dozier founder of Edified Intellects, Hans Johnson founder of Progressive Victory and JJ Murphy.

I have not experienced an easy time creating and sustaining any business. Being in business is hard and being successful is even harder.

The lesson I have learned is your network and good mentorship will get you much farther and get you to your goals faster.

Our brand is being able to tie any problem a person has in America to an elected official. Our story is the summer of 2020 provided the energy needed to tackle a long standing problem in our country which is everyone deserves to be safe and to get there we need policies e.g. “Civil Rights Act” and to make everyone aware that elected officials are our employees and they should be fired when they are not doing there job which is to provide that legislation.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For breakfast which is my favorite meal, I would take them to, The Modern Tea Room, owned by Tristan and Gabby, lunch would be Get Fresh Cafe owned by Patsy, dinner would be at Challenger Taphouse, I don’t know the owner but Alex is an amazing server. And for dessert, FloraDonna’s owned by Nia and Bri. All of these spots are where I have meetings, eat, read, in Lancaster. The most fun and interesting would be Transplants Brewery in Palmdale, with the best beer in the AV, the most inclusive atmosphere and diverse patronage, event for all likings from Lucha Libra, Adult Bingo, to concerts, and the most amazing artwork by the resident artist Brandon.

And if you’re my friend you’ll have to go to some community events throughout the week organized by different community based organizations, Cancel the Contract founded by Waunette Cullors.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to recognize my wife, kids and extended family for all the encouragement and support. My mentor and friend Cedric White co-founder of the Uplift Foundation serving in the Antelope Valley.
