We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Hargrove and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, what do you attribute your success to?
No matter how many hurdles you face, no matter how difficult the journey, you don’t give up. Remember, we all had to start somewhere. Some of the best things in life are the hardest to get.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m excited about the chance of getting to create and tell stories! Whether it’s through writing a script or book, acting in front of the camera, doing voiceover, or putting together a film – all of those make me excited. I wouldn’t say it was easy to get to where I today. If I wasn’t in a class, I was learning from experience – the bad and the good. You have to be able to take the criticism, and yes, it can still sting some, but that’s what makes us grow, that, and understanding you can’t please everyone, but always SOMEONE!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
For me, I’d be taking them hiking – I’m a sucker for nature and animals. Huntsville offers several areas for hiking. If wanting a bit of science, the Space and Rocket Center would be the next place to hit up.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
For me, it’s a lot of people that helped on this journey. Too many to name! To my family and friends, mentors, and all of those that supported me – thank you.
