We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley LaRae and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, what role has risk played in your life or career?
The hardest part about taking a risk is the unknown. I’d like to think when I am taking a risk, I am finding myself in perfect balance of the unknown and the confidence in my ability. Many people say there is no reward without big risk, but there is a huge difference in risk and being reckless. When I am assessing a risk, I make an effort to decide if the intended outcome still aligns with my goals, values, and beliefs. I have found the most growth comes from the unknown and when I push myself out of my comfort zone, I accomplish more than I ever could imagine.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am proud to be a woman of the arts. I was a dancer first, who experienced a short career as a touring singer, and ultimately landed as an actress for film and television. This has made me well versed in my career now as an actor and producer because I can connect with artists on all mediums. As a producer, I am keenly aware of what everyone needs on the set to function at their highest capability. The hardest part was transitioning through all of these passions. Many people told me to focus on one thing. While that is true to get to your path much faster, I am appreciative of my journey, because I feel as though I have lived many lifetimes over, and the 10+ years of experience I bring to the table is unmatched. I want people to look at my story and see themselves within it. I am here to experience, fail, succeed, and do it all over again. As long as I am having fun doing it, then I know I lived.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If one of my friends came to visit, I would first start their day off at the Waffle in Hollywood. This is such a fun place to eat because of the atmosphere and they can choose anything from a sweet to a savory meal. Then a mid-morning hike is a must. I like Fryman cannon the best. Next would be roof-top pool chill time. Drink a mimosa or two, then head off to enjoy dinner at one of my favorite places to eat, Katana. The last pit stop would be back up to Mulholland Dr to see the city lights at night that overlook the beautiful city of LA.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shout out the most important people in my organization, the crew. Joel Daley, Lisa Kapchinske, Snoopz, and many other people that join to help our productions come to fruition. They help me manage everything from the creative vision, operating equipment, and managing the set. Without them, there is not a project. I would also like to thank our clients that come to us with trust in executing their vision. Most recently, International Rap Artist, Gshytt has helped us launch visuals on an international platform allowing us to grow at an exponential level.
