We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Swartz-Oliva and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
I am the type of person that enjoys making others happy and by starting my own business I can do that with every order! 😊 I feel like any customized gift or treat means more sometimes than something just picked up at a store. So with my business I am trying to bring happiness and joy to the world especially at a time like now 💗

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I actually work as a full time xray tech and decided to do cookie and treat decorating on the side for fun! I learn everything from you tube and watching other cake decorators videos! With social media now you can learn so much! I truly enjoy any orders I get as I love being in the kitchen! I love receiving messages from my customers on how pleased they are with orders. It is a great feeling to go over and beyond to give my customers more than what they ask for 😊

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My wife is my best friend so if we had a week long trip I’d say we would eat at the Wilshire rooftop, head to the illusions museum and then maybe go see a Rams game because my wife is a huge fan! I would hope they were playing the chiefs❤💛 because I am the chiefs hugest fan!! (Way before mahomes came along)

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I started my journey at stater bros. In the bakery department, and I had a manager Myra that told me I should decorate cakes so I gave it a shot! I would never have thought about going for this. But I did and I loved it! Not to mention I became pretty good at it! I eventually left staters and became a xray tech but always missed those days at the bakery so I started it as a side business for my friends and family and I LOVE IT! Thank you Myra for the push and believing in me!!
