Meet Austin Troughton

We had the good fortune of connecting with Austin Troughton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Austin, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success is going at my own pace and my sphere of influence. Learning any industry is about patience and repetition. Real Estate is no different. I have surrounded myself with a strong mentor and trusted that if I can find a way to bring value to those I care about, I will be rewarded in both my personal life and professional career. Being able to combine doing what I enjoy with economic prosperity is something that anyone can do with anything. I think it is important for everyone to remember, we are all different and what makes us unique and may be viewed as a personal negative when comparing ones self, is actually what could be our strong point when growing a business.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am the the realtor that clients trust with the biggest decision of their life. I can be having a glass of wine with my partner on a Friday evening and I will still answer that phone call when they need. I always put the time and effort to getting the right answers and instead of stacking too many clients on my plate, I have a specific business model where I focus on a few at one time, working more efficiently for their needs.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them surfing in Malibu, hike the to the Hollywood sign early one morning and show them a few homes, hit a restaurant in Westwood just for the vibes. I would introduce them to my friends in Marina Del Rey and bike around the South Bar and let them choose a concert or sporting event of their choice. If it was rainy, that is a great excuse to head over to LA’ s contemporary Art Museum and maybe even some type of drama show. For me its about the little moments. Morning filled with good coffee and evening surrounded by ones you love enjoying the beautiful west coast sunsets.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Brandi Brotherton is my mentor in Real Estate and has taught me everything I know about the industry. She does not have an extremely large team, but her sales don’t lie. She is a real estate investor, broker and business coach who goes above and beyond to be available when one needs help with absolutely anything. She exemplifies a truly good person and she is constantly rewarded with referrals and amazing clients.
