We had the good fortune of connecting with Autumn Bates and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Autumn, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My mission at Autumn Elle Nutrition is to help men and women achieve their weight loss and wellness dreams without counting calorie AND while eating foods they truly enjoy. The major problem when you don’t work for yourself is that you are subject to the mission and voice of another person. I have a very unique perspective on nutrition, fitness and health that doesn’t fit the criteria of many other brands. So in order for my voice to be heard and to achieve my mission, starting my own business has always been the only option.
What should our readers know about your business?
I’m a Certified Clinical Nutritionist and the founder of Autumn Elle Nutrition. The mission at Autumn Elle Nutrition is to help men and women around the world achieve their wellness dreams without counting calories. Something that has always set my company apart from other Nutrition brands is my emphasis on teaching the community about how nutrition actually works, not just a laundry list of studies. This is the key focus on my YouTube Channel, which now has over 220,000 subscribers. https://www.youtube.com/c/autumnbates?sub_confirmation=1 I dive deep into topics ranging from why we ACTUALLY get bloated, which foods trigger fat burning and which trigger fat storing, and strategies for naturally losing weight while still feeling full and satisfied. I’ve found that when you can understand the WHY, executing the HOW becomes so much easier. In fact, my YouTube channel has been a huge factor to the success of Autumn Elle Nutrition. After just a little over 2 years, my nutrition YouTube channel has gained over 220,000 subscribers where men and women around the world tune in every Tuesday and Thursday to learn more about how they can achieve their wellness and weight loss goals. YouTube has been an incredible way to connect with others and share my mission, but it really is a full time job. Every 4-9 minute video of mine takes around 10-12 hours of work between research, scripting, editing and publishing. And although it takes up a lot of my work week, it’s also one of my favorite parts about my job. Seeing the comments of men and women who have had incredible successes implementing the strategies and recipes I share on my channel always makes my day and drives me to create more content to help even more people.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The South Bay is quite a little nugget of amazing-ness. Of course, the beach is always a must. One of my favorite things to do everyday is go for a morning walk on the strand while drinking my coffee. Two Guns or Homie are both perfect little coffee shops to stop by to fuel your morning walk. There are also a plethora of workout studios with high energy classes. One of my all time favorites is Beastie. If you’re looking for a boxing class that will challenge you mentally and physically, this is the place to go! In Hermosa, one of my favorite local restaurants is Palmilla. Any of their margaritas and enchiladas are a must.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
