We had the good fortune of connecting with Ava Clark and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ava, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve always had an insane creative drive. I began singing at the age of 2, knew who I wanted to be at the age of 5, and finally began taking action on my dreams when I moved to Southern California at the age of 12. My parents have always been very supportive of me and have played a major role in my journey. I’m blessed to have grown up with parents that have allowed me to freely express myself and my passions. I’ve expressed myself creatively in plenty of different ways throughout my life, diving into things such as acting, art, music production, singing and songwriting, videography, photography, content creation, fashion, poetry, modeling, and lots more! I still have a list of other creative hobbies I’d like to pursue such as the electric guitar, pottery, graphic design, and clothing design/production! Thankfully I still have a long life ahead of me, as I’m only 17 at the moment 🙂
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I don’t believe I belong to just one category in the creative field. I’m constantly outgrowing different versions of myself which causes me to outgrow certain passions and discover new ones. Although I find it hard to stick to just one hobby, I’ve learned that consistency is key to accomplishing and perfecting just about anything. With consistency comes success. I wouldn’t consider it easy to take dreams seriously, but if it were easy then everyone would be doing it. Over the years, I’ve found that journaling and collaborating, all while being open-minded has helped me maneuver through the process easier.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting my town for a week, I would drive them around to various cities and beaches. I would likely take them to Oceanside, Carlsbad Beach, Malibu Beach, or Huntington Beach for a day of tanning, iced coffee, live music, swimming, journaling, ramen, thrift shopping, and more! When the clock hits 6, I would walk them to the beach with some blankets, sit on the lifeguard tower, and catch up with them! If we were feeling a bit more spontaneous, I’d drive them to Los Angelous for a day of exploring and shopping, and a night of partying!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to a few people! As I mentioned before, my parents have played a major role in my accomplishments. They’ve supported me in absolutely everything and have guided me down the proper path to success in various ways. Although I attend an online high school program, it’s been a bit of a struggle to find a balance between my work life and education. Thankfully, I have an amazing brother by the name of Grant who has dedicated plenty of hours to teaching me important concepts as well as life lessons. My sister, on the other hand, has helped me express my love for hobbies such as dance, gymnastics, content creation, and more! Aside from family, I owe a huge shoutout to Jaime Cope, Ashley Furlong, Austin Sexton, Max Louis, and Gail Bowman. They’ve each dedicated so much time and love into helping me create the life I desire. Max Louis was the first person to tie me into the music industry. At my very first studio session, I bumped into Jaime Cope and a few other significant people. Jaime Cope helped me write my first song, which was then produced by a very talented producer, Austin Sexton. Gail Bowman was the first person to scout me and tie me into the modeling industry. I’m beyond grateful for her, as she has helped me find ways to clear my skin, change my eating lifestyle, and help me create my modeling portfolio. Gail recommend me and signed me to a few great modeling agencies as well! Ashley Furlong has been by my side since my first day of middle school after moving to Southern California. I consider her a very loyal and down to earth friend of mine.
