We had the good fortune of connecting with Aye Mack and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aye, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I would have to say building up my confidence to face failure has played a huge role in my risk taking abilities. I now understand how the person in the mirror can be held back by personal doubts. The greater the risk the bigger the reward. Being willing and even able is only the beginning musically. Presenting what you have to offer to the masses and remaining self aware needs structure. You are risking layers of skin to be tested by who knows how many people. Only to give a broad point of view and prospective of what you think or feel. That’s a big enough risk to crush a driven man right into a wall of discouragement. It gotta be in you not on you!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I believe what sets me apart from others is I know who I am personally. I’m one of the few people doing music that you get what you see. I have worked all kinds of 9-5 jobs legit and un-legit. My music is life oriented by what I believe see and am trying to understand nothing more nothing less. It’s all an emotion for me when I hear any beat. The challenges are more obvious for my journey I’m watching everything around me from people around me to those in the distance. I treat every situation and person with respect only because that’s what I want in return. I’ve learned not to expect me from others while making sure through meeting people to listen only to understand them. The noise around the perception of what your heard should always be captured in your mind but always analyzing that person for how they are introduced to you that moment means more. I grew up faster than expected from a daughter born at 16yrs old I have been providing for since my youth. To today a man living off more legacy of how I stand everywhere I am on the planet. Your presence should be felt even when you don’t speak you can build that value by what you do and show when the eyes are on you. As well as when they are not consistency is key!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Monday we’d ho to Stardust bowling ally to catch up while enjoying a good time. Tuesday we gotta stop by Annie Mae’s for some taco’s. Wednesday I’d take them to meet some people I know have been good to me so they can see some genuine folks. Thursday we’d have to hit the highway to the mall in flint so straight to the Vally. Friday we could head out even tho I don’t party much but the place we’d go would be out in Detroit with the guys. Saturday I’d just invite a few people over with their kids and hit the kitchen & grill so we can eat good while we chop it up all night letting the little ones enjoy a day of good vibes. Have to end the week off more family oriented for balance. Sunday it’s all luv and safe travels hit me when you touch down so I know you made it back safe G!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I give a lot of credit to my parents, siblings and close family members. Without what I’ve seen through them my structure and train of thought would be totally different. I have to give a BIG s/o to my engineer CookinUpWitFO & Scottie Roosevelt & Rell my personal producers. Them guys really want to see me win and have kept it genuine for years it’s only right to give them they flowers. But most of all my children from the smiles, frowns and cry’s we’ve shared I’ll never forget so I push to limits farther than my vision. Luv’em All!
