Meet Aysedeniz Gokcin: Concert Pianist & Composer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Aysedeniz Gokcin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aysedeniz, how do you think about risk?
Take risks all the time but only those you can afford! That’s my motto!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a concert pianist, composer and community builder. At age 6 after winning a competition and receiving a giant box of candy and a bicycle, I decided to make piano my career.
Years later I toured around the world performing in 24 countries as a soloist.
I am now living in LA and composing as well as creating piano content on my social media channel @ADPianist.
During quarantine I decided to give back to my community and teach people how to play the piano, so last month I launched my Borderless Piano Academy & Community, creating a method which I wish I had learned when I began piano lessons. It lets people choose the genre they want to play while teaching them the pieces they love but in an academically correct way (reading sheet music and explaining theory etc).
I’m so excited to see how fast my fans began to learn to play the piano already!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
LA for me means inspiration: seeing how creative people made careers and became successful in this city makes this place so unique.
As touristy as it gets, seeing where they lived is a nice start for inspiration! So I’d take a Hollywood tour with a guide and go around Beverly Hills! Then I would visit the studios and see how films were made.
I would stay in Venice Beach, eat at the amazing restaurants on Abbott Kinney: Gjelina, Salt & Straw and Felix Trattoria.
Then I would rent a bike and go to Santa Monica beach, enjoying the view of the ocean all the way to Malibu.
One of my favourite neighbourhoods is Whitley Heights which is a Mediterranean inspired neighbourhood with amazing architectural houses where you can have a stroll with mesmerising views and lemon trees.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this to my fans online who have supported me by listening to my music.
