We had the good fortune of connecting with Azara Sings and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Azara, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Staying organized – Keeping track of assignments, deadlines, and responsibilities helped me avoid last-minute stress and stay on top of my work.

Setting goals – I always made sure to set both short-term and long-term goals. It gave me something to aim for and kept me motivated.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Even though drag isn’t my full-time career, it’s a huge part of who I am. It’s more than just a hobby it’s a creative outlet that brings me so much joy. I love the process of putting together a look, planning a number, and stepping on stage to perform. Every detail, from the makeup to the music, is a chance to express myself and connect with others.

What I’m most proud of is how drag gives people a break from whatever they’re going through. For the length of a drag show, I get to help the audience escape the stress and struggles of life. I create a space where people can just enjoy themselves, feel the energy, and be part of a magical, supportive world even if just for a little while.

Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy. Like a lot of people in the LGBTQ+ community, I faced judgment and had to push through moments of doubt and fear. But I found strength in my drag family, my supportive friends, and in being true to myself. I’ve learned that showing up as your authentic self is one of the most powerful things you can do.

What I want the world to know is that drag is love. It’s art, joy, and resilience all wrapped into one. My story isn’t just about glitter and performances it’s about creating connection, spreading positivity, and being proud of who you are.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit, I’d make sure they had the absolute best time—and of course, I’d take them to some of my favorite LGBTQ+ spots that I know and love.

Day 1: Riverside Vibes
We’d kick things off at The Menagerie in Riverside. It’s one of my favorite places to perform and hang out. The energy is always on point, the crowd is fun, and it’s just a great place to start the trip with some dancing and drinks.

Day 2: Explore & Chill
We’d take it easy and explore downtown Riverside during the day maybe grab coffee at a cute local spot, then swing by the Mission Inn for some photos and chill vibes. At night, we’d head to VIP Nightclub & Restaurant, also in Riverside. It’s another spot I love to perform at, and their shows always bring the heat!

Day 3: Drag & Dinner
Mid-week calls for something iconic so we’d head to Hamburger Mary’s in Ontario. Whether I’m performing or just hanging out, the atmosphere is always electric. Great food, strong drinks, and unforgettable drag shows? Yes, please.

Day 4: Day Trip & Catch-Up
We might take a break from nightlife and head out for a little daytime adventure maybe a trip to Palm Springs or somewhere scenic for a change of pace. It’s all about balance.

Day 5: Back to the Scene
We’d circle back to The Menagerie because honestly, once isn’t enough. Each night feels different and fresh. We’d grab drinks, meet some fun people, and maybe even hop on the mic or stage if the vibe is right!

Day 6: Rest & Reconnect
We’d spend the day just hanging out maybe cooking at home or watching drag shows online, catching up, and just enjoying the downtime together.

Day 7: One Last Bash
For the final night, we’d do a full-on tour hit all three spots if we can (Menagerie, VIP, and Hamburger Mary’s), make the rounds, take pictures, and end the trip with a bang.

To me, these places are more than just nightlife they’re about community, expression, and feeling seen. The people in these venues are some of the most talented, supportive, and fun folks you’ll ever meet. I’d want my best friend to experience that magic too.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Alright, so let’s jump right in! I definitely wouldn’t be where I am today without the support and love from a few key people in my life. First and foremost, I want to give a huge shoutout to my parents. They’ve always been in my corner believing in me, encouraging me, and reminding me of my worth even when I doubted myself. Their support has been constant, and I’m so grateful for the foundation they gave me.

I also have to recognize my drag family. They’ve played such a huge role in shaping the person I am. Through them, I found confidence, creativity, and community. They’ve lifted me up, helped me express myself authentically, and shown me the power of chosen family. Their love, mentorship, and acceptance have meant everything.

So yeah, my journey isn’t just mine it’s built on the love, strength, and encouragement of the people who’ve walked beside me.
