We had the good fortune of connecting with Azia Johner and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Azia, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
A holistic pre and postnatal corrective exercise specialist is what everyone has been longing for! Have you ever gone to the doctors office with a concern and felt like you were heard but not understood or seen fully? Most can certainly answer, Yes. Its frustrating and mentally challenging-It leaves you with a “stuck” feeling.
As a PPCES we look at each individual as a whole. We take the time to talk through those detailed questions about past, present, and future. We use primal movements and habitual daily movements in our assessments and trainings as a tool to navigate, find the hidden complexity that’s interrupting homeostasis. We use our passion, skill, and knowledge to help women reconnect. Training women how to use appropriate muscles and chain of events within their body to avoid injury, surgery, and/or pain. Most importantly, the ability to thrive In their bodies.
It’s not fast or trendy. It’s effective, restoring, and empowering-leaving each woman connected to their body like never before!
What should our readers know about your business?
The Climb-we are all striving to get to the top, whether it be physically, mentally, or emotionally, but we have to remember its not the top that makes the person, its “the Climb”.
It’s exciting to be the first Prenatal and Postnatal Corrective Exercise Specialist in the area. I’m pioneering a new way of standard care for women pre-and postnatal, normalizing the taboo of pelvic health. My hopes is to be a lasting resource-point of reference to women’s thriving pelvis.
Pioneering is a two way street though: with the ups comes the downs. Lack of education on the topic of pelvic health and what is common but not normal of the pelvic floor seems to be a key factor. That is why I’m so passionate about bringing education and exercise of the pelvic floor to the forefront, empowering women to take back control of their bodies and lives!
Being a pelvic floor specialist has its own unique list of challenges: embarrassing to talk about -so people steer clear, not recognized on a state level-so many underplay the importance, with little education women simply don’t recognize a problem or concern which is sad because most can be fixed, better yet prevented. But with any shift, this is how it starts: ridiculed, opposed, accepted? I know the shift is coming and I’m here for the long haul, normalizing for my daughters and generations to come.
How did you get into this Azia? A common question I love to share about it. Motherhood changes you, point blank. I struggled to bounce back (I wanted to look the way I did before baby) I did P90X and nothing changed. It broke me! But being in the fitness profession I knew there had to be something specifically to postpartum. To keep it short, that’s when I stared my journey in the pre and postnatal industry. After years of getting certifications and applying it to myself and others my love and passion arose. It was life changing for me and continues to be for myself and clients. My second pregnancy was more enjoyable due to being educated and knowing my options. My body is better now than before pregnancy, something I would have never dreamed of.
This brings me to, Family is everything! My youngest was two and I had a skill set I wanted to share with others. How could I prioritize passion and being a stay at home mom? Start my own business! Starting The Climb has allowed me to keep family first while taking on a few clients which allows me use my skill set and share my passion.
Easy enough/no brainer! HAHA, the joke was on me. Running a business is complex: Mentally I was not prepared, nor confident enough (self sabotage is a real thing). I can say that confidents grows with the trail and errors. It’s truly humbling with endless growth opportunities. Physically, I was running this way and that trying to get plugged in. There were many late nights etc but over the years managing time, setting boundaries, and saying “no” was needed to manage the pace. Emotionally, I have learned to sit with myself-this is not easy but tremendously rewarding. Its what has allowed me to explore and manage my emotions. Having a business is challenging yet rewarding too. Most of everything in life takes time, work, effort, and patience. Im reminded daily to drive with passion and the rest will follow. As long as I am building someone up or bettering them I feel accomplished. Its doesn’t have to be complicated either, It can be as simple as a smile or “hello beautiful”!
The Climb aims for women to feel welcomed, educated, empowered, super charged! If our paths meet, hopefully you walk away with a body that is rooted yet smooth and flowing prepared to take on life and whatever it brings.
The Climb Mission:
The Climb helps women rebuild their pelvic floor before and after childbirth. Providing women solid options to rebuild their pelvis in 12 weeks or less, so they can live a happy, healthy, stronger life in a sound harmonious body. This will allow women to continue the physical activities that fuel their lifestyle leaving them pain-free and worry-free of those “spontaneous” moments. Building self-confidence and reducing doubt in ones pelvic floor ability. Unavoidably women will “level-up” meaning, the ability to remember who they are and how powerful they are. Reconnecting them to a core part of their body, giving that “aha” powerful feeling-empowerment at its finest.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m forever grateful for opportunities and books! It’s the opportunities that have shaped me and paved the way to where I am now. I am on a climb-my journey is not the same as yours and better yet, none of ours are the same, but if I meet you at a certain trail point I believe we were put together for a reason. Each interaction allows for encouragement, education, and growth and I’m forever grateful for that. We all have our own Everest!
Shout to:
