Meet Baegod | Artist/ Musician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Baegod and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Baegod, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
Always keep going, Giving up is not an option! Sometimes people confuse letting go or moving with giving up but trust the process, trust yourself, there will be signs.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Being an artist is so interesting and challenging at the same time. It pushes me to be creative and constantly self reflect. I always loved music, everyone around me knew it. Bigger than music I love art and being creative. I’m not the person that has to be in the front, I really don’t mind playing supporting roles or trying out other creative avenues as long as I am being true to myself and having fun, when you love what you do you it’s not draining in the same way. Right now I’m focused on building my brand, collaborating, being a role model and mentor for other artists, especially women because we’re underrepresented in many areas of music like production, engineering, a&rs, Songwriters, and label executives etc… I think that it’s very important to teach and encourage female artists to learn as many skills as they can, for a long time the industry has used that as a way to manipulate and control us. If someone does get the chance to check me out I just released my first self-produced album called #lethercook and it’s a good place to start before diving into my catalog!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
As far as my hometown, Sacramento I would say food i really like Urban Roots Brewery, If you’re going out Tiger Bar is giving nightclub vibes without the dress code and they play great music, Music venues Harlows/Starlet room usually has something going on. Every Wednesday at Shady Lady you can come to Vibe Sessions hosted by Dibiase and hear live beats from local producers and even open aux or open mic. Summertime the American River is good, Check out Old Sac or go to the Golden one Center.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to give that one to my partner Sbvce. He’s been my mentor, my cheering section, my best friend and support throughout my musical journey. It’s so important to have feedback and constructive criticism, someone to encourage you when you’re down and be there to celebrate your wins with you. Other than that my dad because music was our connection and I don’t think I would be doing this if it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t even be here.
