We had the good fortune of connecting with Belinda Jimenez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Belinda, what do you attribute your success to?
The factor I value most in my business that I believe makes it successful is being able to develop a personal communication with each of my students. In doing this, I can generate a unique lesson experience for each student that is tailored to their learning style. Every lesson is based on what they want to learn, their strengths, and their weaknesses. I try to develop trust within this communication because I want every student to be successful.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I actually have a doctorate in classical singing. I always knew I wanted to be a singer, and a teacher told me long ago that my voice was suited to classical music and opera, and then I started to explore those styles. I have performed many operas all around the country, and I am so glad that I had so many opportunities to create beautiful music. A career in music is extremely competitive, and I always tell my students it is all about the work you put into it. No great musician has gotten to where they are without countless hours of hard work and practicing. Even though my singing is specialized in classical music, I love almost all types of music. Musical theater is one of my favorite genres! I always encourage my students to step outside of their comfort zone and try new genres of music because you never know what might fit you until you try it.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I moved to LA in 2016, so I am still exploring the city myself. Whenever I have guests, we usually go to the theme parks or beaches and eat all over the city until we are bursting! I think my favorite thing about LA is you can easily find a beach or a park and plop down for a great day with friends. You will always have a good view, and it’s a good bet that the weather will be nice.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This shoutout is dedicated to my students! They have all put in such great effort especially as we have transitioned online. I am so proud of them for being flexible and for handling all that life has thrown at them this past year.
