We had the good fortune of connecting with Bella Camerino and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bella, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
It’s been a quite the process starting my own business and to be honest, it’s still getting started. I’ve worked in numerous corporate companies where I felt like I was unheard and under-valued as an employee. Not only that but I felt that I was in a constant creative block because typically bigger corporations have a set routine that they already use and aren’t as open to try new things. That’s where I felt stagnant in what I was doing because I am constantly keeping up with social trends and thrive off of trying new ideas. So that is one of the main reasons why I started my own business.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am so excited to be able to really enhance my creativity by learning new programs, studying new trends and keeping up with all things social media. I’ve always been passionate about photography, which led me here. I believe my creative eye is what sets me apart from others because I really visualize everything I see into a beautiful work of art. Now it’s compiling all the beauty into content to share with the world.
Through my business, Bungalow95 fully embodies your vision to enhance your brand through story-telling and visual content creation to capture your audience in the ways you’ve always imagined.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am a San Diego native but have lived in Los Angeles for about 3 years now. If you besties were coming to visit, I would definitely say we’d spend a day in each part of the town!
We could start the week in Santa Monica/Venice and get coffee at La La Land and shop around Abbott Kinney then eat dinner at Felix for the best pasta ever.
The next few days we can explore places like Pasadena and visit the Huntington Gardens with our Alfred’s lattes we got in Downtown Pasadena. After walking around, we can do Happy Hour for wine and cheeseboards at We Olive.
Later in the week, we can grab burritos from my favorite burrito spot, Wake & Late in DTLA then shop around the ROW DTLA! Grab another coffee or maybe get my favorite pizza from Pizzeria Bianco! An absolute must when downtown.
When the weekend arrives, we can get dressed up for dinner and go to Delilah’s for cocktails and live music or we can bar hope around Weho.
There are so many things we can pack into a week!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to shoutout my family and friends who have constantly pushed me to start my business. Coming from a filipino family, it was always the “norm” to finish college and work for a corporation that provides you health benefits, 401k plans, PTO and all of that corporate talk. But I feel so blessed to have supportive parents who challenge me to branch out and pursue my passions. I’ve decided to start my own business to truly embody what I am passionate about, which is social media and content creation, so bringing my business to life is a dream for me but I would never expect any part of it to come easy. But with the support of my peers and family, turning my part-time photography hustle into a social media + content creation service doesn’t feel like work because I am obsessed with it.
