We had the good fortune of connecting with Blair Rosario Walker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Blair Rosario, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Music has been in my life since birth, Trained classically in piano, I started at the Peabody Preparatory School of Music in Maryland at the age of 3 and continued to compete until the age of 15. After being accepted into the Duke Ellington School of the Arts my parents however wanted to move to Miami to immerse my sister and I in our Cuban culture.

Unfortunately my piano was sold in the move yet I still continued to perform in school plays, and was a lead soprano in madrigals choir. In college it was imperative for me to major in something that “could make money” as my parents put it, but I still found time to contribute to Woman’s Chorale before graduating with a BBA in International Finance & Marketing.

It’s been an ongoing double life between music and being a business major. Thus I pursued a career in the music industry to remain around my deepest passion, as I became the digital marketing and branding professional for some of the most well known record labels, executives, and entertainers.

We are now in the last 3 months of 2021 and here I go again this time with greater experience and knowledge as I aim to re-launch my very own music career, which never quite took off while I was trying to find a means to an end to deal with life itself.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Easy? Is that a word?

HAHA I have to laugh because this has been a whirlwind.

My career started because I made a job in an industry when digital marketing and branding wasn’t even a thing. I knew I had to present value because no one will ever tell you what your job is. You have to create it, so that was my lane.

It started when I moved to LA and started managing for Zoë Young, former VP of A&R at Sony Epic Records, who at the time was Executive Assistant to French Montana. That then lead to working for Sean Combs Enterprises, EMVE, PJ Kev, and many other major executives and influencers in the entertainment industry.

Realizing there was a demand for my knowledge and expertise I started The Klutch – A digital marketing and branding firm which has allowed me to create a living for myself while pursuing my music.

Sometimes, however, my music was never the focus, as I was building the careers and names for others in my field. To be honest, that has been the most incapacitating feeling. In contrast, it allowed me to learn the business side of the entertainment industry. Wanting to be a singer yet having to make sure someone else’s career is taking off has been a humbling experience.

Through it all, I’ve been afforded the opportunity to work on 3 Revolt Music Conferences, 3 parties for Diddy, 3 Rolling Loud Concerts and Coachella. There’s a time to be backstage and a time to be in front of the camera which I have been patiently waiting for. It’s all in God’s plan.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My goodness there’s still so many places I haven’t seen, believe it or not.

Eating good food makes life worth living so I would definitely take them to my favorite restaurants depending on the time of day.

Breakfast – The Serving Spoon
Lunch – The Ivy
Dinner – Weho Bistro
Brunch – Toca Madera

Oh and if we want to get fancy fancy let’s go to Malibu Wines.

There are still many museums we can both see together for the first time like The Broad!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Funny you ask, I just thought to myself “in what part of this interview do I mention Gullie Lamont.” He’s been an advocate for my success through countless journeys in this industry and I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to him. Thank you Gullie for telling these people about me 🙂

First and foremost without a doubt in everything I do however I am going to thank God for it ALL.
