We had the good fortune of connecting with Annica Taalbi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Annica, what role has risk played in your life or career?
The first quote that comes to mind when I think of risks is, “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take!” That is exactly what taking a risk is, you either make the shot, or you don’t, but you’ll never know if you would’ve made the shot if you didn’t at least try. My husband, and I have moved across the country multiple times to pursue our dreams, risks we as a family decided to take, but I truly, and deeply believe that everything happens for a reason. I have learned in my adult life that each risk I have taken has led me closer to what my soul desires.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Anointed is a safe space for people from all walks of life to come and heal. I consider myself a transitional healer & psychic helping anyone through life’s transitions, and who are ready to get to the root of healing the soul & getting into alignment with their soul’s purpose. I am also big on empowering women and assisting them in taking their power back through healing the womb, and reproductive system through Reiki and Yoni Steaming.

The thing about becoming a healer and getting into alignment that is overlooked by many is that in order to get into alignment with your soul’s purpose, you must first deal with your own personal baggage. Before you can heal others you must heal yourself, and that isn’t always easy! I always say we are spiritual beings living the human experience, and with that comes healing some of the human aspects of yourself, the good, the bad, and the ugly! Surrendering was my biggest challenge. I was one that liked to be in control, and force things to happen. Transitioning into the healer role I was forced to deal with that part of myself, and surrender to allowing things to flow.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When anyone comes to visit, my go to spots are the tide pools in San Pedro, a beautiful place to get grounded, and recharge with the ocean. I also LOVE the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. There is something so beautiful about honoring those who have transitioned from our world into the next, it is also a great spot for a picnic, and duck feeding! After a day at the cemetery I like to pop over to the Bourgeois Pig in Hollywood for a delicious iced Chai Tea latte and a pastry. The energy in that space is definitely one of a kind!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have been around the metaphysical world my entire life. Growing up my father was a funeral director, and we at one point lived in a funeral home which exposed me to the other side at a very young age. Both my father, and mother are psychically gifted, and have been highly supportive of me nourishing my own psychic gifts. My mother, a Yoga Teacher, and Crystal Reiki healer introduced me to her circle of spiritually gifted friends during my first awakening in my late teen years which helped me to feel like I belonged, and gave me the confidence to trust my intuition. It wasn’t until 2019 that I decided to take a leap of faith (trusting my Intuition), and call a local healing space to ask for a job. Little did I know that I was about to have two of the best Spiritual teachers a girl could ask for, and a safe space to grow into my gifts. Wes & Tanai Holder, owners of SoulWERK Academy, gave me the tools to sharpen my Psychic abilities, and step into the role of the Healer. I am also very thankful for my husband’s support. He has been amazing with supporting me in following my soul’s desires, and holding down the fort at home with our two daughters while I am putting in that Spiritual work! I have a wonderful group of Soul Sisters (Jaz & Char) that I can turn to when I am in need of literally anything, and have so much love for them as well.
