We had the good fortune of connecting with Blair Woods and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Blair, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Just one value or principle..hmm that’s kind of hard. I’d have to go with a simple two words, “be kind”. Kindness goes much further. People remember when you’re rude to them for a few minutes, maybe even a few days…but people remember when you’ve treated them with kindness far longer. I try to make sure I’m as kind to everyone as I can be; Uber drivers, studio fam, fans, random people in the grocery store, everyone.
Kindness can change someone’s life, lack thereof just changes someone’s day (and for the worse).
So be kind. That’s all.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a pop recording artist, I sing and I write my own material. I am also learning how to produce my own music since the industry only has about 2.8% of women producing in it at the moment (let’s fix that!). I absolutely love music, I love making it and singing it and dancing to it. I’m most excited about finishing the EP project I’ve been working on. It’s been a long time coming but I feel like I finally have found my sound! I’ve been at this for about 6 years professionally and when I started I had no idea what I was doing. I was lucky to have met Nick, my current (and main) producer, he has mentored me into this industry and helped guide me along the way with advice when I need it and artist development as well. It wasn’t always easy, but I feel like now more than ever I have a better idea of where I need to be and how to get there! Lessons, I suppose not to trust too many people, definitely research people and protect your peace because not everyone has your best intentions in mind. I want the world to know that I believe in kindness and the power we have to spread it. We also have the power to literally manifest our dream lives with a little hard work and mindset shift (I feel like I’m the poster child for manifestations coming into fruition).

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ooh this is always so much fun! I love when friends and family visit! I suppose I would take them to a few different places based on different circumstances, I’m a list girly so I’ll list them below: – A fun chill afternoon shopping/browsing- probably would start in Abbot Kinney, eat at The Butcher’s Daughter for breakfast, pop over to the Pier for touristy sight seeing around lunch (if you plan it correctly, you can rent lime scooters and scoot on over to the pier in about an hour (ish), it’s really fun). I would end in the Pacific Palisades for dinner at Amici or Hanks (depending on if you want quality Italian food or upscale diner food).
– A very jam-packed day of sight-seeing- I would start closer to Burbank and do a tour of the studio at Warner Bros and get breakfast at Patty’s near Toluca Lake, then I would head down to The Beachwood Cafe for a little lunch in Harry Style’s corner section. We’d then go over to the Lake Hollywood Park, for in my opinion, the closest and best view of the Hollywood Sign without hiking to it. I would see if anything was happening at the Hollywood Bowl, the Greek Theatre, or the Chinese Theatre for an evening event and then go to Mel’s Diner on Highland. That also covers walking around the Hollywood walk of fame, just as long as it’s not too dark out (it gets less fun and safe to see it as it gets later).
– Another chill shopping day would be spent on Rodeo Drive, lunch there at Sweet Beverly or The Terrace. Stopping of course at Alfred coffee in-between for their signature iced vanilla oat milk latte (it’s godly trust me). I’d follow this with a beach day if the weather permits, or a visit to one of the country clubs that allow visitors. Then dinner back in Beverly at Sugarfish.
– If you enjoy museums we have SO. MANY. I feel like museums deserve a day or two. I’d map out the first day’s worth of museums in DTLA (the last bookstore, the grammy museum, FIDM museum, The Broad, Bradbury Building, the Cake museum, and a little shopping in Santee Alley) during the daylight since it’s never any fun to walk around most parts of DTLA at night.
– The second day I would map out the must see museums in WeHo/Beverly. I’d include La Brea tar pits and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, then Madame Tussauds, The museum of death for true crime lovers, World of Illusions, the immersive Van Gogh museum and if we had time I would travel to Huntington to the library because it is a playground for literature lovers.
– I’d do a nice breakfast at Castaway in Burbank, then go for a mini hike at Brand Park in the middle of Burbank and Glendale. Around lunch we’d head to NoHo West to eat at Urbane, one of my favourite little spots, see a movie at Regal Cinemas, then head to Bob’s Big Boy for dinner.
– The last day I would take it easy and go horseback riding in Malibu, or see a game at the Dodgers Stadium. Then follow it with classic In-n-Out for lunch (my go-to is easy, it’s a double double animal style with fries and a dr. pepper).
Hope this helps!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I think I always shout out my close friends and family, but I haven’t given a proper shout out to the new addition to my family, and that is my fans/supporters. They literally have helped catapult my career so fast in the past 3 years. I am so proud to call them family, they’re the sweetest, most real, funniest, and supportive group of people anyone could have asked for. They’re insane, I love them so so much and I recognise I wouldn’t be anywhere close to where I am now without them. Thank you little bears!
