We had the good fortune of connecting with Kenny Sara and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kenny, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
My wife and I decided to pursue KKaremusic Co. when we receiving calls for authentic New Orleans music, which is a rarity in Southern California. Debbie and I were born and raised in New Orleans, so it was a no brainer.. KKaremusic Co. Was Founded by my wife Debbie A. Sara and myself in 1994.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
While growing up in New Orleans, music was engraved in my life.. I had great examples to follow. You heard and saw how proud those people were, being a musician or an entertainer. Hard work, perseverance, dedication, getting to know yourself. Continuing with hope and a faith foundation are keys to a winning life..
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would say Hollywood Blvd., The Beaches, Restaurants that that serve a great seafood dish. Of course the Theme parks are available as well. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Yes I want to shout to all the wonderful mentors I had the honor to take me under their wings to mentor and educate me; Edwin Harrell Hampton ( New Orleans Band Director, St. Augustine High School) Earl Palmer ( Los Angeles Studio Recording Drummer, Percussionist) Joe Liggins ( Bandleader, Artist for Specialty Records) Daisaku Ikeda (Buddhist Scholar Philosopher, Author- Soka Gakkai Nichiren Buddhist International)
