We had the good fortune of connecting with Bonnie Rose and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bonnie, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is never giving up!!!
It takes courage, faith and consistency! I am also grateful & lucky enough to have a “village ” of people who are supportive.
My father use to say “You can turn the corner and things change”
I was fortunate that both my parents were supportive and helpful.
I always believed this was going to happen & to never give up!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am most proud that I am 30 years into my career & working more now than ever and that I never gave up on a dream that is my reality today!
I am married and coming up on 25 years !!!
I have really close friends & family in my life!
I love the people I am working with – Encompass Arts and Stewart Talent..
I started out when I was Thirteen and in 7th grade going to Neighborhood Playhouse on the weekends for acting classes.
In the summer I went to Stage Door Manor- a theater camp in upstate NY.
I then went to Syracuse University and in my junior year studied theater in London and was fortunate to work and study with Arthur Storch.
I received a BFA . When I graduated I hit the pavement looking for work and took jobs in restaurants to pay the rent. Every week I got Backstage a weekly trade newspaper. One day I saw an ad for a film. It was an open call and when I got to the audition there were about a hundred people on line waiting to sign in!
I got in & read for one of the casting directors-Billy Hopkins!!! That in turn got me a callback with the iconic director Sidney Lumet!
He HIRED me at the callback! Without the iconic director Sidney Lumet there would be no Bonnie Rose! I worked with him many, many times in the next decade.
I am forever grateful to him because that YES allowed me the courage to keep going. Going I did!!! I got representation and got TV & Film work.
I love working and bringing roles to life. I have worked on “100 Centre St” as a recurring Legal Aide lawyer Ellen Klein opposite Alan Arkin. A nurse in Mr, Robot opposite Rami Malek. Worked with the Coen Brothers on “Inside Llewyn Davis opposite Oscar Isaac. Worked on all the Law & Order’s in many roles. Always a favorite is L&O SVU. Most recently I was on “And Just Like that'” working along side Sarah Jessica Parker, Gloria Steinem and Candice Bergen; and directed by Michael Patrick King! Loved working on “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” kibbitizing along side Caroline Aaron. I presently just wrapped a film working with an incredible cast.
