We had the good fortune of connecting with Boris Tonkikh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Boris, what do you attribute your success to?
My success is made up of a lot of moving parts, my smart work, my support system, my perseverance, and my courage among other things. One thing to note is that in this world that’s fast-paced and ever-competitive, making sure that I produce contents that are authentic and unique to my story has been a big help. People love going through the digital world and finding other people that they can be inspired. If I can be that person for a young dreamer, I’d gladly tell my story through my body of work.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m Boris Tonkikh, a model and actor; I also did fitness coaching. Being an immigrant from Chisinau, Romania, success did not just land in my lap one day. I had to work hard to get to where I am but I’m very happy with the journey. I started as a fitness coach when I was 15. Naturally, since I had a good physique, I started dressing up well. That’s when I started taking an interest in modeling, and now, acting. Success does not come easy, but if you muster up the courage and put in the work, just like in your fitness journey, you’ll see the results soon enough. Important things in your life like your work ethic, discipline, grit, and passion are all like muscles; you must exercise them and they will grow and be stronger.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of the best spots to hang out now in LA would be The Cinema Bar. It’s a place where you can enjoy great food and drinks, soak up good music, and just chill with your friends. They also have outdoor seating which can come in handy for a much fun conversation

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are a lot of people that contributed to my success: my family, my current and previous agencies, and the PR agency that I am with now. Shoutout to my parents for always being so supportive of my pursuits in life; the very fact that they had the courage to move to the US from Romania when I was seven has already changed the course of events in my life. The agencies that gave me my first gigs, were Seattle Talent Agency and NTA Talent Agency. My booking manager, Justine Hunt, and Platinum PR for representing me in the vast digital world, making sure I reach as much audience as we can. Lastly, I want to thank myself for working hard and persisting all the way through. It’s in believing in oneself that one realizes his dreams.
