We had the good fortune of connecting with Brad Alden Mowry and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brad Alden, how do you think about risk?
I believe taking risks is an essential reality to any successful business history. Calculated risk is nice, and guarantees are nice. But sometimes, you really have to trust your “gut”. In my case I lean on my faith and ask for clarity in prayer for direction, as well as peace about risks I am considering. I think risk is inevitable and risks must be taken to advance your career, and business at times.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I grew up with a passion for music from a young age. But I was raised by a more practical, and hard working Entrepreneur. Initially my ideas about business and music were disconnected, as well as my reason or “purpose”. Once those things aligned and made sense for me – music has become a joyful, successful, purpose filled ongoing journey with blessing after blessing by giving first.
I create, and play music because I love to. I give thanks now because I “get” to share music with a purpose as a part of my career & calling. Whatever you do – if you pursue it with a clarity of intention, and with peace about your purpose – money comes. Money is needed, but it’s not what drives you. There is a beautiful peace to that. My faith brought it all together – and my heart to share, and give, and serve others first, opened doors that a sole business approach could not.
There’s always a “give” to “get”. Give joyfully.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When I’m in Los Angeles – My 2 favorite places to eat are: Sushi Gen, and Factory Kitchen. Totally different experiences but both are presented with such excellent quality, service, and integrity – it is a win for any guest/friend, or family member. If my wife and I want to get out of the city – we love driving up the coast on PCH, and probably love Big Sur the most – spending time there will impact anyone in a positive way.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost – I give glory, praise, and thanks to GOD for all things – every morning, every day, all the time.
