We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenna Reiss and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jenna, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
This is the reason I show up each and every day, because my practice’s sole focus is on helping each individual in the community. My business helps people get out of their own way, heal from their past stories, live life more intentionally, and in doing so, when people help themselves, they’re more able and likely to help create change in the world. We have to be willing to grow. It’s the only part of life that is inevitable, and as individuals grow, they make changes, grow out of old beliefs, heal from their pain, they are more likely to show-up for their loved ones, and friends. This becomes the ripple affect of healing. As people see the light that you become, they themselves are drawn to it, want some of it for themselves, and that is how we create change in the world. If more people in the world were not walking around with their open wounds, scars driving their lives, then we could let go of judgements, let go of defensiveness, and create space for open-hearted conversations. Those conversations lead to action, and lead to a better world. I believe that my work helping people heal themselves, helping them widen the view in which they see the world, ripples out into the community and ultimately helps the world become a better, safer, more equal place with love for justice for all.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets me apart from others is my essence. When I walk into a room people feel my presence, usually in a good way. I am definitely too much for some people, but it is my too muchness which is exactly what sets me apart. People are drawn to my magnetism, my energy, my spirit, my words. My teachings are from my lifetimes of experience learning, healing, being a student of the Universe, and my work brings my magnetism to otherwise heavy subjects. I am a bringer of joy. The one who holds your hand and makes you laugh while looking at some of life’s most difficult traumas and pain points. Through my intuitive guidance, forever-student learnings and experiences turned teachings, Spirit-created meditations and breathwork facilitations, and my joy, my energy bleeds through my work, draws people in, and helps them return to wholeness. What I’m most proud of would definitely be launching and successfully growing my practice over the last 4 years. It started as a side-hustle while I was at my corporate day job, where I was for over a decade, and it when it became evident that working with people, teaching Breathwork Meditation and Coaching, was my purpose in life, I began dedicating my time to the right places. As I prepared to take the leap away from the stability of the day job, I was paralyzed with fear. Finally, one day it just became scarier to stay where I was, complacent, then it was to move into doing my side hustle full time. Within this professional accomplishment, there was a major accomplishment that I needed to learn in order to take this leap, and that was learning thought and emotional management. I had to learn how to work with my own emotions, how to heal them, not let them control me, and how to work with my own thoughts and see them as something to be managed in order to begin the deep work that I do with my clients. These accomplishments have helped me grow, evolve into the person I am today. What haven’t I learned along the way!? haha! Always something new to learn when you embark on a healing journey as your life’s work, as a human healing! I’ve learned that people are inherently good, sometimes life has just roughed them up a bit but when we can break down the walls, barriers to love, when there’s a willingness to do so, anything is possible. I’ve learned that I cannot fix anyone. There is no fixing in the work that I do. I’ve learned that healing work is not linear, life is not linear, we don’t get to choose the steps, action items to make it be so. I’ve learned that love is the most powerful energy to live in, be in, and believe in, and that love must begin within yourself.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is a bit hard to answer in the state of quarentine that is 2020, but I will try :: :: Brunch beachside, somewhere we could walk near the ocean afterwards, so anywhere on the West side, my personal favorite breakfast burrito is Cafe Wild in Manhattan Beach. :: We would then take a walk on the waters edge, talk about life, talk about healing moments, play in the ocean or at least put our feet in the ocean. :: We would then likely head to a healing experience, that could be a group meditation, a Tarot reading, a yoga class, or a breathwork group. If I was leading a class that weekend, we would get set-up for a breathwork class, and I would feel excited because I love when people I love join me in class, and since in this world it’s a beach day I’ll say it’s a Beach Breathwork circle (which I hold once a month when not in quarentine) and I’d draw our circle in the sand, and wait for our group to arrive :: evening would be spend going to a fun dinner spot, which feels dreamy just thinking about it given the closing of restaurants, it would be something healthy, and delicious in Venice, where we could walk afterwards on Abbott Kinney and enjoy the energy of the city around us Some of the most fun interesting, exciting places to see and do in LA are local shops where people have poured their heart and soul into their work.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
So many people. All of my teachers, mentors, friends and loved ones. To my teachers :: I wouldn’t be here today without your safe space holding, ability to push me to my limits, crack my heart open to see more light. Mentors :: You pushed me to take a chance on myself, try something new, and to this day, push me to be a better me. Friends :: You love me for exactly who I am, flaws, mistakes, growing pains and all. Loved Ones, family and my beautiful partner :: who believes in me especially when I doubt myself, always bringing me back to love.
