Hi Brandon, what role has risk played in your life or career?
You won’t get far in life without taking risks. If you think about it, we face risks every day—whether it’s something as routine as getting into a car or navigating the chaos of traffic on a motorcycle. As an artist, risk is something you have to embrace. Whether it’s acting, writing, painting, or picking up a tattoo machine to craft an intricate back piece or sleeve, nothing truly worthwhile is created without risk. In fact, it may be the risk itself that gives it meaning.

In my career, success comes from putting yourself out there—being vulnerable, authentic, and fully engaged in the creative process. The key is to understand and accept what is, rather than force it. When you do that, the idea of risk becomes less intimidating and more of a natural part of the journey.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As an artist, I thrive on the creative process. Whether it’s stepping into a role to bring a character to life and move an audience or crafting stories through writing, each form of expression fuels my passion. Writing and publishing novels has been one of the most challenging yet rewarding journeys I’ve undertaken. Pouring my unique storytelling style onto the page—blending years of esoteric and consciousness studies—feels both vulnerable and deeply fulfilling.

Tattooing has been another incredible chapter in my artistic journey—30 years of professionally putting ink to skin, transforming ideas into one-of-a-kind works of art. Each artistic pursuit comes with its own challenges, but the passion behind them makes every risk worthwhile.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Los Angeles is a vibrant tapestry of unique neighborhoods, each offering its own charm and attractions. Whether you’re exploring the historic streets of Pasadena, the cultural hubs of Glendale, the beachfront energy of Santa Monica, or the iconic landmarks of Hollywood, every corner of LA has something worth experiencing. From the stunning mountain landscapes of Big Bear to the breathtaking coastal views of Malibu, the city offers endless opportunities for adventure. With so much to see and do, it would take a lifetime to truly uncover all that LA has to offer. My best advice? Pick a neighborhood, dive in, and let yourself get lost in the experience.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to take a moment to express my deepest appreciation for my wife, whose unwavering support and encouragement mean everything to me. She constantly pushes me beyond my comfort zone, reminding me that growth and greatness lie just beyond fear. Through every challenge and creative risk, she stands by my side, believing in me even when I struggle to believe in myself. I’m endlessly grateful for her love, patience, and the way she always has my back.
