Meet Breanna Stelle | Brow and Lash Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Breanna Stelle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Breanna, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?

I think that one of the most important things I’ve done as a parent that has had an impact on my son other than to teach him to be kind and responsible in his choices and make sure he knows that I am always there to walk beside him and help him navigate this crazy thing called life and growing up, is showing him how to go  after the things you want and to not to give when things get tough. Let him see that it’s ok to make mistakes but to learn from them and keep trying and pivot when needed. Letting him see the real raw human that I am so that he feels comfortable doing the same and to be open and honest with his feelings so we can talk through them be it a high or low moment in life.

Starting my own small business has definitely had an awesome impact on my son because I let him be apart of it, I share the things I do and show him the passion I have for it, I take him to work on occasion and he gets to actually watch me do my thing. I always let him know how amazing it is to be able to wake up everyday and be excited to go to work. I can already see the little entrepreneur in him as he is constantly telling me his ideas or things he wants to do and be when he starts a his own business and how enthusiastic he is when he talks about them, it makes my Momma heart so happy. I will always encourage him to follow his dreams and help him to achieve them.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

My company is Handmade Brows & Beauty, I named it that because I feel like it truly speaks to what we in the brow & lash industry do we hand craft your brows and lashes into a work of art! Eyebrows and lashes have the power to completely change your look, eyebrows are the center of your face and one of the first things you notice about someone even if you don’t realize it. I love everything about brows and every brow service I offer from something as simple as a brow wax and tint to help subtly open up the eye and give a polished look, to a brow lamination and tint that can take even the thinnest brow and give a gorgeous, full and styled look, to microblading which is great to give the illusion of brow hair for those who are lacking it or just enhance what is already there and last but not least a lash lift (lash perm) and lash tint which give the most beautiful curl to the lash and really opens of the eye. I love having a client walk into the shop and getting to know them and their story and who they are all while creating the brows and lashes of their dreams and then seeing how happy and confident they are when they leave. I love the human connection that I get to experience everyday. I love that my clients tell me how relaxed and calm the feel in my space and it gives them a moment to just be still and treat themselves or to have a therapy session and just chat about life. I have so many clients that feel more like friends! Making my clients feel joy and adding confidence to their life is truly the best and the do the same for me and I am so grateful and humbled by that.

I still have such a long way to go in continuing to grow Handmade Brows and I am baby stepping my way there and just trying to learn as much as I can everyday. I love the creative side of what I do and am always working on growing my skill an keeping up with latest and greatest in the beauty world. The business side and social media side have always been a struggle for me but I have learned that I have so many people willing to help and give advice whenever I need it and learning to ask for help is something I definitely had to learn and am still learning, I love this community of artist and the way we support each other. I am 5 years into this little business of mine and when I look back at where it started I am proud of how far I have come. Life has thrown me A LOT of curve balls in the last 5 years in my personal and professional life just like so many others and I am so glad that I kept pushing forward I learned that I can go at my own pace and don’t need to “keep up” with anyone but myself and that if something fails it is just time to pivot. Seeing others I know in this industry succeed and create magic is so inspiring and it motivates me to keep showing up everyday.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

If a friend were visiting Costa Mesa and I wanted to show them a good time they are in luck because there are so many cool spots in this city. We could start off with breakfast Memphis Cafe,  they have a southern homestyle menu that is delicious for breakfast I highly recommend the breakfast burrito and a handcrafted cocktail of your choosing. Then we could walk around The Lab next door and check out all the cute shops my two favorite are May Martin she has the most beautiful handmade jewelry and runs her shop out of  the the cutest little vintage trailer and then checkout House of Intuition which is a magical little shop with crystals, herbs, candles, tarot cards etc. We could take a hike in the Newport Back bay or see what musicals are happening a Segerstrom Center for the Arts, I have seen so many musicals there but my favorites are Mean Girls and Six and I can’t wait to see Beetle Juice! We could shop at South Coast plaza and grab lunch at Din Ti Fung, get a mani and pedi at 1989 nails, they have the cutest shop and do great work. Then we could walk down Randolph street and check out all the breweries and cool shops my favorites are the little speak easy called Cowboys and Poodles and Green Cheek brewery which is family friendly. We could see what concerts are happening at the Pacific Amphitheatre. Or do some indoor rock climbing at Sender one, its a great date! One last spot would be Tavern & Bowl at the Triangle Square great family fun!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to shoutout my parents for always supporting me in my passions and encouraging me to always go after what I want, my Mom and Dad are truly the best love you both! I would like to shoutout my husband for being my biggest cheerleader and number one supporter! He listens to me endlessly talk about brows, lashes and all things beauty, he his my shoulder to lean on and my best friend. He gives the best advice in all things business and always boosts my confidence when I need it. I love you Mike! I want to thank you to my son Elliot who is the true reason for leaning into the fear of the unknown and taking the leap to start my business, love you buddy. Last but not least a shoutout to all the family, friends and clients that book appointments with me and share my business with others it means the world. It took me awhile to find my perfect fit in the beauty industry and I wouldn’t have gotten this far without all that love and support. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom off my heart. I love you all.
