We had the good fortune of connecting with Brenda Fisher and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brenda, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
There are so many things that have been important as a parent, but the most important thing I have done is putting my son first. Things have come full circle, and I am doing something I love because of him. My son and I are really close, and he has turned out to be a great young adult.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a co-owner of RSA Entertainment along with my business partner Gina Nuccio. We have been a team since 2014. I think what sets us apart is that we really care. We hear comments, we are not just Hollywood types, and we take that as a compliment. We are real, and we pride ourselves on always trying to do the right thing. I think that comes from the fact that we are moms, and no matter how old our clients are, we tend to mother them a little bit. It is in our DNA, and I know that if my kid was in Los Angeles by himself without family, I would appreciate someone looking out for him. I am a firm believer in slow and steady wins the race. We hear and say “this is a marathon, not a sprint” a lot. This is very true in this industry. There isn’t a clear line to get from point A to point B. I feel that if you put the work in and give it your all, eventually it will click. We have seen it happen. If you love it, don’t give up! When it comes to our brand and our story, I think we have worked extremely hard and have had our fair share of obstacles to overcome. We are a multicultural group of women striving to support tomorrow’s Oscar winners! We represent talent for TV, Film, Commercial, Voiceover, Influencers, Writers, Producers, Directors and we have our own Podcast called “The Badass Babes of Entertainment.” We would love you to listen!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I think I would take them to all of the usual areas like Hollywood to see the stars as well as the Chinese Theater. There are some fantastic restaurants in Hollywood that I haven’t tried yet so I think we would have to do some restaurant hopping to try some new ones. Hamburger Mary’s for Drag Queen Bingo of course – that is so much fun. In Burbank, I love Tequila’s on Magnolia – best salsa hands down! Also, if you are looking for a good plant-based burger, of course Blazin Burgers on Victory in Burbank. You won’t even know you aren’t eating meat…. If you are looking for a big experience, Barden G is fantastic. It is all about the presentation, and the food is great too! The Hollywood Hotel Escape room is amazing if it is still there. It is hard to write this when I don’t know who is going to survive after Covid. I really want to go back to Musso and Franks. Hollywood Blvd too…. I may go play tourist now, just because we haven’t been able to……I miss everything.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We do a ton of shout outs to fellow Badass Babes of Entertainment on our podcast, so it is funny to have to answer this one for myself. My mom has always been an extremely hard worker and taught us the value of a good work ethic for sure. She taught me you need to learn how to do everything for yourself, so that you don’t have to rely on anyone. She was also big on helping others. I think this is why I am fiercely independent and am driven to see others succeed. I also had my Grandma Jess – she was actually my great aunt, but I spent so much time with her as a kid she felt like my Grandma. We were very close, and she gave me great advice. She once told me “it is just as easy to marry a rich one as it is a poor one.” I always got a kick out of that, but now I wish I would have listened more closely to see if she actually had “how to instructions”. Now that would have made for an interesting interview on my podcast, lol. She was also a beast with a fly swatter and protected me from my unruly brother – God bless her!
