We had the good fortune of connecting with Brendan Cave (aka B.Cave) and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brendan, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The name Booming Bay was something I had in mind for a long time, and after receiving a Business degree from the University of Tampa, I wanted to figure out a way to get the business side of my music career set up early. I had struggled to find a direction for a while, but once I got more into music management and realized I had some artists in my circle that could use the help, it made perfect sense to form Booming Bay into an entertainment management company. From there, I formed a small team of managers and signed myself and an artist named T-Cap to my company. T-Cap and I have been friends since childhood, and is someone that has been working on perfecting his craft for a long time. He is a very well versed lyricist, producer, and overall talented individual. I was often helping him with the business side of his career until the point came when he asked me to be his manager, and that’s when the Booming Bay idea clicked. I realized this could be the perfect opportunity for us to set up our business from the ground up, especially considering we are both focused on a route of independence in this forever-changing music game. The idea is that Booming Bay will be the entity who handles all management responsibilities, including shows, touring, meetings, release strategies, and much more.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What I found out about myself over the past few years is that art and music is my passion. I’ve been surrounded by musicians and live music my whole life, so when I began creating my own, it just felt right. I began producing in Ableton in 2016, but started out on the drums and piano at a young age. It started as just making beats and freestyling with the homies, but then i started recording and really fell in love with the process. I love making beats and writing, but I think my favorite role to have in the music creation process is as an executive producer. I really feel like i have an eye/ear for the bigger picture of a record and love to seek out the potential of it in collaboration with other artists and producers. I have put together 4 projects so far as an executive producer (3 of my own and 1 with a group) and love going through the process every time. I think whatever part of my brain that is responsible for that is also what helps me be able to manage the music from a business aspect as well. I really have big dreams when it comes to what I want to do with myself and my team, and have loved being able to see pieces come together along the way. We’re just a group of kids from a small town in Massachusetts, and now we live in LA pursuing a dream that we all share. I feel blessed to be able to help push that forward and give the people around me an opportunity to shine. The past year plus has been really tough with the whole pandemic situation, and put a halt to a lot of plans we had, but now that things are starting to move in a positive direction, I’m really excited for what’s to come. We are currently gearing up for the release of new music, videos, performances, and hopefully live shows within the next couple months. I can’t wait to get on stage and showcase the talent that we have on our team.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
To be completely honest, my favorite place to be in is my studio. We have recently built a studio in our backyard and is where we spend about 90% of our waking hours. A lot of my friends that come to visit want to get a taste of what I’m doing on a day to day and vibe out, so that is the spot. BUT, don’t get me wrong, I am definitely still a social person and love to get out of the house when I can. I’m definitely taking my friends to Venice Beach, Malibu, and pretty much wherever you can find a happy hour and nice view of the sunset. That to me is one of my favorite parts of California. You get to see the sun actually set into the horizon. That’s something you just don’t get to see on the east coast, it amazes me every time. If we’re really trying to do it right though, I would probably take them down to San Diego and hit up Old Town for some Mexican food and Pacific Beach area for a good time. A lot of my friends have never been out here or its their first time when they visit, so it means a lot to me that I get to be the one to make that experience happen for them and give them a little more perspective on the world.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Oh man, I have a lot of people to be grateful for in my journey. First off, I have to mention my family. My parents could not be any more supportive of what I’m trying to do and have helped me in so many ways. They have always encouraged me to find my passion in life and chase it, and are proud of me for making that happen, and that support means the world. My sister and grandparents have always been there for me as well and that support system is what allows me to be across the country and do what I love everyday. I am also fortunate enough to have a team of close friends that I work with on a daily basis. It really is a blessing to have a group of kids that I grew up with pursuing the same dream, and being able to share the journey with them. I initially moved to LA by myself, so now being able to have this team around me everyday really changed everything for me. Lastly, aside from my team, I have an amazing system of close friends from both childhood and school, that have continued to support me through it all. I may not get to see them all very often now but theres a special place in my heart for all of them.

I just want to thank them for all for believing in me.
