Meet Brennyboombox

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brennyboombox and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brennyboombox, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I grew up in a relatively small town in New Jersey called Colts Neck. Honestly, I had a good childhood and I grew up in a great town. I’m fortunate enough to have the same friends today that I did as a kid growing up there, so I’m extremely grateful for that. It’s interesting when I look back at my childhood because although I had a great time, it was also extremely confusing. Personally, in school I struggled a lot academically. All the tutors in the world couldn’t really help. That part was tough but it helped me attach myself to things that I was good at and interested in like music and songwriting. I wrote my first song in third grade and I’ve recently looked back at it in my old journal and it’s actually not half bad. As I continued to get older, most of my friends started moving in a more traditional route but I took the alternative route. I just always knew what I wanted and I also knew that I wasn’t going to feel fulfilled maneuvering any other way. It hasn’t always been perfect but I know it’s the correct path for me. Creating is my path.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My music mirrors my perception of myself and the world around me. What sets my work apart is my commitment to authenticity. I draw inspiration from my personal journey, infusing my music with genuine stories and emotions. My sound is heavily influenced by pop music from the late 90s and early 2000s as well as edm music. One of the highlights of my career has been getting chosen to perform at the rally held in Britney Spears’s honor the day her conservatorship was terminated. Britney is one of my biggest influences ever, so having the opportunity to help support her fight for her freedom was humbling and I’m still pinching myself over that one. I’m also extremely proud of the series of singles I released for my project “Unhinged”. I was nervous about putting it all out there in regards to my mental health but I’m so happy I did, I’m happy to add another perspective and voice to the conversation around mental health. The music industry is filled with obstacles and I started learning that from a young age but I think that understanding yourself and being instinctual will help you navigate the complex landscape of this business. I took a long break from this industry before I decided to come back to it. I’m happy I stepped away, it helped me realign and understand what my actual goals were. I’ve learned that resilience and adaptability are key. Every setback is an opportunity to grow, and every victory, no matter how small, is a step forward. Above all, my brand, “Brennyboombox”, represents freedom, fun and vulnerability. I want the world to know that my music is a sanctuary for anyone searching for connection and understanding. My story is one of perseverance, creativity, and the drive to make a difference through art.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well I just moved to Los Angeles this past spring so I’ve been doing a lot of exploring. The first thing I’d do is book a reservation at Elephante in Santa Monica. The food and vibes there are insane. I absolutely love it there. Then we would bop around Weho and drink a lot. The truth is, my friends and I like to party so we would definitely be at a rave. Probably multiple raves and after parties. Being at raves is like our comfort zone. My friends and I just love to dance until our legs are about to give out. That’s where we would spend the bulk of our time.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate my shoutout to my friends. They never once stopped believing in me and always supported me and all of my chaos.
