We had the good fortune of connecting with Brian Park and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brian, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’ve always believed that the best businesses aren’t just about selling a product but about crafting an experience. From the start, I wanted K PhotoLaVie to be a place where people don’t just take pictures—they create memories. The inspiration came from seeing how self-photo studios in Korea weren’t just popular but had become a cultural phenomenon. I saw an opportunity to bring that experience to the U.S. but in a way that was more immersive, more personal, and more connected to local communities.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
A thing that sets us apart is our focus on collaboration and community engagement. We don’t just operate as a standalone business; we create opportunities for brands, artists, and influencers to engage with their audiences through our shop-in-shop experiences, event activations, and partnerships. Whether it’s a brand launching a new product or a local artist curating a special theme, we tailor our services to create meaningful, memorable experiences.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d dedicate a shoutout to the communities that have embraced K PhotoLaVie—our customers, our partners, and the creatives who collaborate with us. The people who step into our studios, bring their energy, and make each session their own—that’s what fuels this business. Their excitement and love for the experience remind me why I started this in the first place.
