We had the good fortune of connecting with Briana Champ and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Briana, what’s the most difficult decision you’ve ever had to make?
The most difficult decision I’ve ever had to make was leaving my 9-5! I had been working in administration for over 10 years! I struggled with pursuing ministry and tapping into what God gave me vision wise, AND whether I wanted to choose “FAITH” over consistent pay, benefits, & stability! I fought, spiritually, for over 2 years. However, I can honestly say, its turned into one of the best decisions I’ve ever made!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is Cooking (including Baking). Cooking is both science and art, really. I’m proud of the integrity of my business. As a creative, you have to embrace that you’re NOT for everybody. All money isn’t good money, and GREED leads to destruction. It’s important to be honest, integral, fair, and have THEE best customer service, ever! I am here today because I took a leap of faith! I closed my eyes and literally, JUMPED! There’s been plenty of tears, dark moments, and frustration, but when you are passionate about, and CALLED to a thing, its all worth it to KEEP PRESSING! You won’t be successful if YOU won’t even believe in yourself. It starts with you! I want the world to know that Flavor Obsession LLC is a business, but most importantly we are all about MINISTRY. Yes, this is my livelihood, but as I take care of others, God takes care of me! I’ll never stop doing that!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Me and my best friend are “FOODIES”! We’re going to Las Vegas! I believe Vegas is the heart of Food! LOL. The city has the BEST FOOD! We’d eat there, drink there, and have the most fun, ever! Lots of people “run” to Las Vegas for the casinos and partying! There is sooooo much more to the place! So many things to do and see!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m dedicating my Shoutout to my older brother, Roderick Donte! He deserves credit and recognition in my story for being my personal motivator! Yes, many have motivated and encouraged, but because he is also a creative, he understands on every level, what entrepreneurship brings. My brother helps in tasting (of course), he’s given advice, ideas, constructive criticism, and most importantly, PRAYER! He’s been such a light and example to push through the dark/don moments, be consistent, and to never give up!
