We had the good fortune of connecting with Briana Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Briana, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is my spirit of resilience. I have a successful business because I have endured many hard times in life. These challenging experiences have cultivated emotional intelligence inside of me and prepared me to become a founder of multiple businesses. Resilience is a key component to staying motivated.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started as a Fashion Designer and now I am the Creative Director, and Founder of Mila Mara Agency. As a self- taught designer from Detroit, Mi, I fell in love with fashion at the young age of 10 years old. Later, I simultaneously obtained a Bachelor’s of Accounting degree, at Wayne State University, while launching fashion brand “Homage Holders”. Today I infuse my accounting background with my creative experiences to enhance the lives of others. Whether working with an emerging fashion designer or small business owner, I shows clients how to turn their passion into their profit.

It may seem easy but it was extremely difficult to become the person I am today. I have been through many difficulties such as: being raised by a single mother in Detroit, life threatening illnesses, losing my father to suicide, depression, homelessness, and other challenges, One thing good that came out of my experiences is my mental toughness. I believe I have the ability to lead a multi-million dollar company.

I want the world to be inspired by my story. Its not always about the past when you have the power to conquer your mind. To create a new story. Growing up in Detroit and being raised by a single mother would alone give me every excuse to not reach for the top. Its something inside of each one of us to make an impact and change the trajectory of the next generation. To my children: I fought for you in mind you with tears and sweat to make sure your future is bright. Generational wealth is not an option.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
