We had the good fortune of connecting with Brianna Carter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brianna, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?

The most important lesson that I have learned is to trust the process. Creating has always been a means of expression for me and a unique way to give back to others. If I couldn’t find the “perfect” gift or a card that conveyed a message that I wanted to say, I’d make them myself. I didn’t have a set plan for starting a business, it just happened. My sister’s friend showed interest in an item that I designed and asked if I would personalize the same item for her, along with two more as gifts. I wasn’t prepared to start a business at that moment, but I said yes. Soon after, more people decided to share their ideas with me, with the belief that I could bring them to life. Each time a request came in, it was for a different item and design I had never done before. Over time, I’ve learned that they were putting their trust in me and my skills to design items made specifically for them or for their loved ones.

Despite being unsure of the best mediums to use and not knowing how each project would turn out, I continued to say yes. Oftentimes, we get ahead of ourselves by worrying about the end result. In doing so, we forget to enjoy the journey along the way. What truly matters is all the growth and lessons we learn in between. In the end, it all works out. Sometimes even better than what we expected! So even with a bit of uncertainty, I just go for it and trust the process. Looking back, I’ve had the opportunity to create some amazing things. Most I never even dreamed of doing. I’m looking forward to what is to come!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What keeps me busy is the ongoing interest that others have in the work that I do, as well as the will to learn more about the industry and the services I can provide. What influences me to keep going is my love for creating personalized gifts, writing inspirational messages, and encouraging others to bring their ideas to life. I’ve always had an interest in drawing and writing calligraphy, and Briinspired Designs allows me to share those passions with others.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Hiking and visiting the beach would be at the top of the list! Each trail you go to provides its own unique scenery, but so far Eaton Canyon Falls is my favorite. I’m from the Ocean State (Rhode Island) and love being by the water, so ocean views are a must! What is cool about LA is that there are always special events scheduled throughout the week, so we’d definitely check out what is going on at that time.
