We had the good fortune of connecting with Brianna Polonia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brianna, how do you think about risk?
I feel people entrap themselves in thought of how risk is dangerous. When in fact, I feel that it can becomes an insecurity. People are afraid to jump into a choice or a decision. When it comes down to anything and everything, it’s “risky”, but the beauty in risk if the benefits and the lessons. If you do things with faith it will work out. If you take the risk to quit your job and travel the country. How much are you risking? If you invest $1,000 in stocks. How much are you risking? Risks have always been a personal favorite. You think of your pros and cons, then go with it. You listen your intuition, then you go with it. You heard advice, then you go with it. The beauty is if you fail, you use those mistakes to only make you better. Trust in your process. I have risked careers, gigs, friends, money, and it always has helped propel me forward.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is expressive enough to give you your own opinions and thoughts. Continuing to create and learn was difficult, create my own styles, create my own expression, have people believe in my works. Then start charging after you grow enough where people want your work. There is everlasting growing on learning when it comes to creatives. Things always change. You push the boundaries to create and express yourself. I personally believe in constantly loving and giving constructive criticism. But, do not be afraid to make mistakes. It’s a beautiful thing to have people tell you what they like and what they don’t like. Don’t let that put you in a box, hear it, use it, and move on! Continue to do what feels good most importantly, be yourself.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would go to laguna beach, san clemente, venice beach. Beach cities have a mellow vibe. The beauty is around, never can go wrong with food, bars and people. Especially because these three beach cities are different and you get the best of both worlds. Hit costa mesa for night life fun with some good eats like seabirds or active culture. Long Beach for blacks bar and take a peak and the beautiful art weirdos that live in their own power.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
EVERYONE who gives love. They give natural inspiration. All who share and give love is a natural way of giving inspiration and encouragement. I also, give an abundant amount of credit to my mom, who never held down my dreams. Always wanted more for me and constantly supported me.
