We had the good fortune of connecting with Brithney Buchanan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brithney, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my own business was a daunting leap of faith, and, honestly, I might not have taken it if the pandemic hadn’t happened. The global crisis was a difficult and unfortunate event, yet it forced me to slow down, take stock of my life, and consider what I truly wanted for myself. Coming from a family of entrepreneurs and go-getters, I’d been around business from a young age, working with my family before moving into the PR industry. By 2020, I had been working at a PR firm for several years, but I felt it was time to move forward on my own, despite the uncertainty.

Quitting my job was a huge step, and while I had my savings to rely on, I didn’t know who would support me or what the outcome would be. I reached out to my network, letting them know that I was leaving my position to start my own firm, Buchanan PR. I shared my new contact information and invited them to keep in touch. The response was gratifying—many clients and colleagues expressed their support and encouraged me. It meant a lot to know that people I had worked with over the years recognized the value I brought to their businesses. It reassured me that I’d made the right decision, and I haven’t looked back since.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business, Buchanan PR, is an strategic public relations firm dedicated to amplifying the voices of creatives, brands, and public figures with a fresh, personalized approach. What sets us apart is our commitment to authenticity and our understanding of the unique stories behind each client. We don’t just create campaigns—we build relationships that help our clients make a meaningful impact.

Getting to where I am today wasn’t an easy journey. Like any business, it required sacrifices, long hours, and an unbreakable focus. One of the biggest challenges was starting out and establishing credibility as a new business during a turbulent time. It took persistence and learning how to adapt quickly. I’m proud to say we now have a roster of incredible clients and a dedicated network that believes in the work we do.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the importance of resilience and patience. There will be setbacks, but those moments shape who you are as a business owner and strengthen your vision. I also learned that surrounding yourself with positive, supportive people is crucial—people who believe in you and your work even when things get tough.

I want the world to know that Buchanan PR isn’t just about public relations. It’s about telling real stories and building genuine connections. Our brand is built on integrity, passion, and the idea that everyone has a story worth sharing. I’m excited to continue growing this vision, helping our clients achieve their goals, and creating impact in the entertainment industry.
