We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Drozd and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittany, what do you attribute your success to?
Iteration and grit. When your start new business, you have to make sure what you’re selling is what people want to buy. Finding that product-market fit. So, you have to be willing to look at the product or services you’ve design and ask “Is this what people want?”. You will likely get feedback that some of what you’re offering is great, and some parts could be better. Once you receive this information, you need to be willing to shift, incorporate the feedback, and put it out there to the market again. In the past 10 years, my services and offerings have shifted at least 5 times. It reflects my growth and evolution, as well as what people are looking for.
Secondly, you need to have grit to keep going when it’s tough and the direction is not clear. There are endless times when being an entrepreneur is tough, but grit will help you get through.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Brittany Drozd Coaching is a firm that specializes in developing confident leaders, building strong cultures, and leading through change. What sets us apart is our use of data in the development of leaders and culture. We are intent on finding out what’s working, what’s not, and aligning accordingly. Secondly, we are here to serve you in your development, but not please you. Tough conversations can drive change, and that’s what we pursue.
In a world full of overnight “coaches”, it can be really difficult to find a great confidant who can serve as a thinking partner and change agent. We are here to meet that need and help you create something extraordinary in your organization.
Our model was born out of all the growth challenges I faced in career, and the lack of resources and support to meet those needs. This industry has lack data to support it’s decisions, and we’re here to teach leads how to use it and drive better outcomes for their organizations.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When in LA, I love Abbott Kinney blvd in Venice. One of my favorite spots to restore in Den Mother. You could spend the whole day here and feel like a brand new person by the time you leave. Seriously, just cruising down this street to pop into different shops, cafes, and eateries feels like I’m living my best life. It also makes for great people watching too!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shout out to my dad for teaching me to be proud of the work I create in the world. Shout out to my husband for supporting me in the early stages of my business when even I wasn’t sure how it would pan out. He always believed in me. Lastly, I left a toxic work culture and horrible boss when I started my business. I’m grateful for that experience because it pushed me to go.
