We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Hohl and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
In the spring of 2018, Beach House said “No More!” to waste and fluff and since then, we have been on a mission to #changethebeautygame by utilizing mailers that are as eco-friendly as possible and devoid of excess. Every aspect of our shipping process is sustainable and we ensure that all of our clients’ custom packaging meets our requirements, too. We know that finding packaging vendors that are affordable and offer chic options can be cumbersome so we turned our informative site into a hub that includes a list of stockists, nationwide, that offer sustainable, eco-friendly packaging options. We all have to work together to make the change.

What should our readers know about your business?
At our agency, our employees come first. This has always been super important to myself and my partner, Brittany Savastano. We know that if our team feels valued, respected, and supported that they will, in turn, value, respect, and support us and our clients. We truly adore our team and we are excited each and every day to work with such hardworking, passionate females.

Getting to where we are today has been a rollercoaster but we are eternally grateful for the people who have helped us along the way. Within three months of owning Beach House, the world was hit with a global pandemic that shook the economy in every single way. We not only felt the shift internally but we also had a responsibility to support our clients and help them navigate these uncharted waters. We paid such close attention to the industry and pivoted all of our clients programming and messaging based on the landscape. Not only that, but we also had to support our employees who were afraid of what the future held for them. We pivoted and we never lost sight of who we were and where we wanted to be. I have an incredible business partner, Brittany Savastano, and we truly are the yin to each other’s yang.

If you work hard, stay true to your passion, and believe in yourself, you’ll persevere, always.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, we would kick off the morning with a Matcha from my favorite coffee shop called Satchi LA on Centinela. The girls over there are the best and the matcha is the best in the city. We would then take a drive down the PCH through Malibu for a hike and then lunch at Broad Street Oyster. We can do a little shopping there, too! The drive is always so peaceful (minus the traffic!) and beautiful. We always pop off for a beach hang if the traffic gets too gnarly. We’d end the evening for dinner at Felix or Ospi in Venice–two of my favorites–and a nightcap at Alibi.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mentor, Barbara Accetta, is truly why I am in the position that I am today. She was a former boss of mine at two previous agencies (she brought me from one to the other along with her) and always took the time to teach me instead of direct me. She was patient, highly creative, and kind. I work so hard because of the immense amount of respect that I had for her; I just never wanted to let her down. My other mentor has been my father. He always encouraged me to work harder, try harder, and hustle. I always felt like I was trying to prove something to him but I know now that he was teaching me how to prove my worth to myself.
