We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Lee and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittany, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
This topic is major for me and all of the changes flowing through my life and career! I am moving out of the “go go.” “doing” mentality and focusing on balancing that energy with more of the “being & receiving” energy. I used to work for others and take on and accomplish more than I can fathom, I did see success come from that so I developed my self worth around that mindset. I did see that it caused me to be stressed, overworked, overwhelmed and mentally exhausted. Because of that, I have been working on building my business around staying centered, focused, successful and abundant all while being aware of my mental and physical health.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have always been someone who manifests their wildest dreams and desires. I have been in the Ent. Industry since I was 15 becoming a jack of all trades from touring, management, journalism, modeling and more. It has been a wild ride but one that I am eternally grateful for as it brought me right back home to myself. My whole life I’ve been working with artists and creatives in one way or another. I started a music journalism site at 16 and went on my first tour at 17 because I knew that I was destined to be involved with the industry on a grand scale. Not only was I living the same lifestyle and relating on every level possible, but I truly cared about my role. Upon connecting with so many people, identifying our behaviors and habits, I realized that the real change begins with the mindset. With that realization, I started digging deeper into consciousness, the healing arts and my own unique gifts. After diving in for about 3 years, I now want to marry the two realms by bringing Think Outside and its many facets to the industry and world at large. Think Outside is not only a community, a podcast, merch, workshops, and coaching…it is a movement. It means so much to me because it comes from my heart as a way to touch other people’s lives and hearts. Life is all about presence, mindfulness, joy, gratitude and growth. I want to encourage, lead, and be a student, through all the lessons I have learned and the fun mystical modalities I have played with along the way. I am here to guide those who feel called to journey through life hand in hand…the time is now to embrace authenticity.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my friend was visiting Los Angeles, I would totally make sure out first night is spent in pjs with yummy food and a movie, getting cozy with candles and snacks. I am a firm believer in quality time, vulnerability and deep connection, so one on one time without distractions are a priority. I then would love to take them to one of my favorite brunch spots called EAT in north Hollywood followed by my favorite coffee shop next door called Republic Of Pie. I love hiking and adventures so one of the days we would have to go to a hike in Malibu or Topanga Canyon to show them the views and then of course a delicious meal by the ocean for Sunset. Last year I went sky diving in San Diego and loved it so I would be thrilled to take them to there for a little road trip and a legendary experience together. Since most people do want to experience the Hollywood classics, I would also take them hiking to the Hollywood Sign then adventure to the East Side to eat at one of my all time favorite Vegan spots…Sage!!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
