We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Mason and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success Was the fact that I didn’t really have support when I first entered this industry, and I had to work very hard and research what I wanted. I realize that in order to get to where I wanted to be I had to do my research and contact people who already were in the industry and see if they were willing to work with me, and give me a chance. My persistence and dedication has been a major factor.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I got to where I am professionally because I realized that modeling was the craft that I wanted to pursue, I found that I loved it, and I think that if there’s something you can’t stop thinking about ,you should go for it. I have done my research on Google I read every article I could think of, and looked at YouTube videos about how to get into modeling and finally I just kept looking for groups on Facebook until I found some groups that had people in the modeling industry that I can reach out to and connect with. I got to where I am by practicing poses in the mirror, and shooting with different Photographers until I was comfortable in front of the camera. No it was not easy, because I had a lot of setbacks, and roadblocks, and a lot of rejection but I didn’t want to stop me. I overcame the challenges by realizing that just because one opportunity didn’t work out doesn’t mean that there wouldn’t be more future opportunities. At one point I had wanted to quit but after talking to different friends that lived in me, they convinced me to continue pursuing modeling. Some lessons that I’ve learned are that this industry is full of rejection and you can’t take them personally, And keep going after what I want. I want the world to know that i am Dedicated to my craft and that I love modeling. I will do whatever I need to do to get the job done, whether it means practicing and working harder or investing in my brand.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting the area, and I wanted to show them a good time, I would invite them to EP &LP if they were open, I really enjoy that lounge, and it’s a very relaxing place. Some other places I would invite them to would be Runyon canyon and the Beverly Hills hotel. We would go eat at Tao Los Angeles

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
One person I’d like to thank for supporting me and giving me a chance when I first entered the modeling industry would have to be my first make up artist @vanessasbellamakeup (Vanessa Talamantes). She was supportive and there when nobody else was, and she was the first Person to give me a chance when I First entered this industry. I would also like to thank Derrick Rogers and Damien Smith. They were two photographers that helped me build my portfolio when I first got into the modeling industry.
