We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Vadnais and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I was born in a small town in North Carolina, called Hope Mills. Well, it’s like one of those cities in a town. I was born in the hospital of Fayetteville but spent the first seven years of my life in Hope Mills. It is such a small community and I was happy for a long time. I had my grandma and my grandpa. My family, and our nice house with our cousins to play with everyday. Then we moved to Italy, and that was nice. I had my friends. I missed my family back home but I had friends and I was happy. I danced and sang, and my friends would come over and we’d have sleepovers. It was when I moved back to the United States that I realized how small my world was. I started to branch out and that led me back to my love of performing. I danced, and I sung and I acted my heart out and that lead me to today. I don’t dance or sing as much anymore- I left that onstage and switched to film. Which is what I want for my artistic fulfillment.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m super excited about the movie I’m in it’s finishing some final scenes and I can’t wait for people to see it. It’s a thriller called “The Patient.” The director is super sweet and she’s become a good friend of mine. I’m also excited about doing a web-series! I can’t talk much about it. I can just say it’s a really good role for me. I wish I could say more, but no it was not easy. I had to audition just like everyone else. It helps increase your chances of booking if you GET COACHED. Every time I go into an audition setting where I’ve gotten coached, it’s gone smoother and I am calmer knowing I am putting my best foot forward.

I’m also big on family time and volunteering. I make it a point to spend as much time with my family as I can and I love volunteering with the local animal shelter . I do feel a little contradictory saying that, I have this dry sense of humor and I make witty remarks that aren’t so family friendly sometimes. Which means I can play the sweet girlfriend or the edgy loner. Both great roles but extremely contrasting. Both are fun to play.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I wish my best friend was visiting!!! I would take her shopping for baby clothes since she’s expecting a little girl! Then I would take her to get a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie, then we’d just chill out. Maybe by the lake. It’s so nice this time of year.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My late grandmother, and my parents are the first people that come to mind. They drove me to my auditions, agency meetings, and supported me financially when I needed help. My brothers and sisters for being so understanding when I had to miss out on something due to acting.

My mentors and coaches, who are still helping me get where I aspire to be. I think you can always aspire to be greater than you are as long as you remember to count your blessings and be thankful for what you have.
