We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittney Day and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittney, what’s the most difficult decision you’ve ever had to make?
The most difficult decision I’ve ever had to make was pursuing my path in music. My songwriting has always been a very deep form of expression, things I was always afraid to say to anyone or even out loud to myself. Just like so many artists, it’s the most vulnerable thing I hold and so to let the world in and see that was very difficult and still is but I regret nothing. I love helping people in their path towards healing.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I can’t really tell you what sets me apart from others, we all want to help people & inspire with our music and be able to have a form of understanding towards our listeners. I think it’s safe to say that that’s how artists how hardwired. My music has a renaissance neo-soul vibe to it where you can just feel it through your entire body and soul. it’s pretty cool lol. I’m most proud and excited of how far I’ve come, not only as an artist but as an individual and it was definitely not easy getting here and had to overcome many challenges and it definitely took lots of strength, patience and most importantly, faith. I want the world to know that I am overcoming and healing and the path is never easy but always rewarding.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting I would want to have the best time ever going to amazing places to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. yum. We would definitely be going to fun places like museums, fun bars and parks to enjoy a joint. In general, I think the most exciting, fun and interesting things are always lived in the moment and that’s something my best friend and I do, go with the flow, live in the moment and just let the spontaneity spring right through us.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would have to say God and my mom and my cousin, Del Ro. The 3 have been so important in this journey and always encourage me through every imposter syndrome phase to words of encouragement when I’m filled with doubt. The support, mentorship and love have been so real and I am so blessed because of it. I know they will always continue to push me towards great efforts
