We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittney Ryan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittney, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
As a mom the most important thing that I have done as a parent in terms of the impact of my children is teaching them through example, what genuine kindness looks like towards everyone. I make sure they know that we are all equal and treat everyone with love and respect. I also make sure they understand importance of giving back.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I create art in the form of hair styling. I have been in the industry for 18 years, creating looks with hair coloring, hair cutting, and hair styling, Now I have starting doing hair for film and television, which has given me the opportunity to create art through creating different characters and their hairstyles. Getting to where I am in my career has not been all easy. I have had to learn perseverance when it feels like you’re never going to build a clientele. As a people pleaser, I have had to learn my self-worth, my priorities, and my boundaries. As a mother of two I have had to find balance with my work and my personal life.
My brand’s main focus is to give anyone who needs it, a little extra self-confidence and to make them feel beautiful. Anyone from my celebrity clientele, to my salon clients, to the women at the sober living treatment centers whom I donate my services to.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Huntington Beach so I would take my best friend to Jans Health Food Bar for a fresh juice. I would take them to the Zen Den, for a yoga class, or CrossFit Surfcity for an amazing workout . I would take them the Pacific City to shop and eat Italian food at Nardo Italian.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The person who deserves the most recognition in my story of my success is my mother, Linda. My mother is still a working hairstylist and one of the hardest working people I know. She has taught me strength, kindness, generosity, the ins and outs of the beauty industry, and insane work ethic,
