We had the good fortune of connecting with Bryan Bowser and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bryan, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting my business was to find a legal way to make money in the hood. Born and raised in South Central LA, everybody around me was making money illegally, I saw where that was getting them so I had to find some way to start something that would last the test of time.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My brand agency is called Bowser Ink we provide consulting, digital marketing, and web design services. We specialize in custom brand identity and websites for local small businesses, celebrities, influencers, and eCommerce companies. Some of our clients include Freeway Rick Ross, Cool Ass Black Woman, Unlocking Belize, LAC + USC Medical Center, and CBS. Building a business takes extreme faith and resilience. I started Bowser Ink in 2011 shortly after my mother died from cancer. Ever since I’ve learned countless hard lessons about business, marketing, systems, processes, and building a successful company. Lessons I would tell a new entrepreneur would be, (1) have a plan, (2) work hard, (3) setup systems to leverage your time, (4) bring value and you’ll get the bag, and (5) learn each and every day.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were coming to LA, I would take them to where I’m from, Inglewood, South Central Crenshaw District. I would show them all the blocks I grew up on and take them to Master Burgers, Randy Doughnuts, or Roscoes Chicken & Waffles. After that, we’ll hit Hollywood, North Hollywood, Venice Beach, and close out the day at Newport Beach chilling at the beach house. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My wife Brandie Bowser, children Zion & Titan Bowser. I would also love to thank my mother (RIP) Linda Grant and Father (RIP), Horace Bowser.
