We had the good fortune of connecting with Bryan Post and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bryan, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I was a college athlete, even though I was on a scholarship I had no money. The demands of class and football practice limited my ability to have a job. Today with the NIL Rule available, for the first time young athletes can leverage their hard work and skills for financial security. Yet, kids today are being conditioned to be consumers of social media content and what they produce has very little direct benefit to them. This trend in social media consumption is causing many kids to lose sight of the importance of goals, focus, consistency, and delayed gratification. The opportunity is for the creation of a platform that entertains, educates, and connects. That’s where majormedialeague.com fills the gap. I wanted to create a place where young student athlete could learn how to build their brand, grow their influence, connect with athletes from around the world, be mentored by masters of the game, and earn prizes, money, and scholarships. All on one sports-focused platform.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are creating the first social media platform that is specifically for young athletes and the sports they enjoy playing. It is a hub where athletes, parents, fans, coaches and brands can connect. We wanted to create a platform that would help to grow a generation of athlepreneurs- athletes who have a personal brand that they can leverage for influence, inspiration and impact. We have already reached hundreds of athletes from around the world through our growing network of coaches and fans. To date we’ve sponsored 14 athletes to travel internationally and play competitive softball and we are just getting started. The opportunity to give young athletes exposure to other cultures, grow their community and network of support, and create special moments with their parents and families, is an added plus of what we are creating.
If creating a social media platform with the scale and reach of YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat were easy there would be 10.000 more platforms just like them. We have an amazing Chief Technology Officer with vision and a team of dedicated programmers who have put in countless hours to bring this to fruition. We want to impact the way kids, sports, and access are viewed with the eventual hope of turning our platform into a place where all passion projects can be highlighted.
I’ve been an entrepreneur for twenty-five years, and if nothing else I’ve learned that things always take twice as long, and cost three times as much as you plan for. In the midst of this as a leader you have to keep your team on track, keep their morale high, reduce infighting as much as possible, while keeping the train on the tracks. Sometimes it really sucks but that’s why success is made of. As an athlete you have to suffer to get better. And in business the struggle, the doubt, and insecurity is a part of making something happen. It’s also why most people are not entrepreneurs.
I want the world to know that these kids from all walks of life have a vision, and passion for something which makes them special. We can learn a lot from young athletes. They workout in the cold, dark, and rain when everyone else is tucked securely in their bed. They maintain their grades and responsibilities. Student athletes are special, and I want them to be recognized. Additionally, I want to grow kids up knowing that they can leverage all of this sacrifice and hard work into a lifetime of meaningful relationships and financial independence.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well I’m a workaholic so don’t come to Texas expecting to hang out with me for a week! I live outside of the great city of Fort Worth, Texas. It is home of the world renowned Stockyards where for over a century they have ran cattle through for sale. Now it has become a tourist destination with two blocks of Texas BBQ, shops, hotels, cold beer and live music in little juke joints up and down the street. More cowboy hats and boots than anywhere else you’ll ever go. We’d go there for a couple of days and have the time of our lives and then back to the office for work on Monday!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to shoutout to my amazing wife who supports me and the majormedialeague.com team who have all put in a lot of hard work and poured loving energy into our attempt to impact the world.
