We had the good fortune of connecting with Bryley Michael Bell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bryley Michael Bell, what role has risk played in your life or career?
What I think of when it comes to risks and overall risk taking is the potential of success and growth. Without taking risks in life or for your career, you will never know the full potential that you yourself has with going far and making it in whatever direction you choose for yourself, your life, and your career. In order to achieve the things you desire, you have to understand the importance of risk taking and going through the loops of life. It won’t always be easy, as risks come with all different challenges, but it’s key for overall success and life experiences. It will mold you into who you need to be. And the growth that comes with that, is priceless. The role of taking risks has played a powerful part in my career thus far.
It has brought me on a wonderful journey in something that I love so much, the art of acting. Following in the footsteps of my Family. Bringing characters to life and enjoying the experience of everything that comes with it. But, I wouldn’t be standing where I am now, without the risks that came with it all. I had to put a lot on my plate in order to further myself in such a tough career path. The industry is brutal and cutthroat, as every actor and entertainer knows, so going out and facing challenges is a huge step to your future success. You have to have thick skin, and be able to bounce back from everything. Rejection, doors closing, and things not working out for how you pictured it. It’s not always a pretty picture, but that’s how it has to be in order to achieve the best of things. The ultimate risk I took was giving up on certain things I loved to do, so I could focus 100% on Acting and Film. To become better and work on my craft and skills. I gave up playing baseball and the potential that was there for a sport that I was really talented in and I gave up hanging out with friends and losing touch with people and becoming more to myself, so I could be focused on the big picture. If I allowed myself to “do too much” on top of acting, I think that I would’ve had a harder time making it a reality for my life. There’s a time in your life that you will have to make sacrifices so you can head in the right direction for your ultimate goals for a career. Being dedicated and determined to achieve it and believing in yourself. Letting go of things that may be hard to let go of, so that way you can continue on the right path. You have to put yourself in uncomfortable situations, so you can experience it. And learn. Even when it’s scary and brings anxiety and stress, or even situations that can be embarrassing for you, it will develop you into something truly special. That’s all the part of risks. It’s how it works. It’s never easy, but it will be rewarding and worth it all later on when you look back. You have to take risks in life. Go out and get it ! And don’t give up. Whatever career that may be, don’t be afraid of trying for it. But know and respect the process ! It doesn’t happen overnight. It happens in time ! The more time you put in, the more risk taking you do, the more opportunities you will get ! And that’s a beautiful thing.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My work is everything to me. It’s all I know, being an actor is the only thing that I understand or ever saw myself doing. It’s like stepping into a different realm, where you can be anything you want. It’s art, it’s magic, it’s a thing of beauty. I’ve never experienced anything more rewarding and satisfying. Especially when you see your work come to life and you get to share that with others. I also love the challenges that come with being an actor. I like to take on things that come across as tough or difficult. Because it’s more rewarding when you succeed in it.

I’d say what sets me apart from others is the fact that I am me. I am myself, a unique guy and I have different traits than others. Just like anyone, we all should be different in ways, being yourself and knowing what you have to offer. I am just myself and enjoy being unique and not “being like everyone else”…One thing special about being human is to be yourself, your own person. Be unique and stand out. Being an artist, you won’t be looked at as normal anyways, so own it. We are all unique in many ways ! So find what that is and run with it !

I am most proud of how far I’ve come and all the obstacles that I pushed through and continued on. I am proud of the growth and progress forward, where I am at now. I look back and see the distance I came and I think that’s really cool. To overcome things that not everyone experiences in their own lives, to see what is possible when you don’t give up on yourself or accept defeat. I am proud of the people I’ve met and worked with and the craft I’ve built on.
I am excited about the future and the things that are coming next ! For the next project and the new people I get to meet and work with. I always look forward to the chemistry and memories that are ahead. The next chapter ! The next character and story. I am excited for that. And always am excited for people, the world — to see it ! I enjoy entertaining people and bringing them joy in my work.

I got where I am today professionally by never giving up on myself or my dreams. Working hard, practicing, putting in the time and hours, having thick skin, knowing my worth, being patient. And having phenomenal support from my family, friends and mentors in my life and making connections.
But getting to where I am now, came with a lot of hurdles to jump over, lots of failures and losses. But that comes with reaching for success. It’s part of the process and game. You have to accept failing to reach successful results ! How will you grow or learn anything without taking a loss or failing ? The answer is you won’t. And it will never be easy, that’s something true and real. Going for your dreams and aspirations, it will never be easy. But it’s not meant to be easy. It’s meant to be earned and written in chapters.
But overcoming your fear of rejection and things not always working out perfect or working out in your favor, will make you stronger. And fuel you for more. And allow you to keep going. If you give up on yourself, you will never know your full potential or meaning. The valuable lessons that you learn along the way, good or bad, is the key to success at the end.
Take it day by day and be patient. Patience is key in this industry of work ! That’s probably the biggest advice I can give anyone, is to just be patient. And believe in yourself. The more you experience, the more things you can accomplish ! The opportunities are endless. And realize that as long as you keep doing your thing, you will make it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would have to say my favorite spots in the city of Los Angeles would have to be anywhere that has food. My favorite places to hang out would have to be areas in West Hollywood. Fun bars there, outlets to shop, things to see. One of my go to spots to eat with my family is “Chin Chin”. When my Mother was an actress in her days in Hollywood, that was her all time favorite place to eat. And I would say, it’s one of my favorites as well. Since being introduced to it. Los Angeles has all types of different things to do, places to check out and great restaurants to eat at. You definitely need to check out “The Walk of Fame” and take that whole scene down the street in ! It’s great.

I also would say I love to chill at the beach, in Malibu is always a fun time. There’s some awesome seafood restaurants out that way that I enjoy and they have some great drinks. The sunsets there are my favorite as well and I love to see the sea life, like the dolphins that swim around near the shore. Another favorite spot is Santa Monica. The vibe there is amazing and colorful with all types of places to eat. Great place to walk around and take in the sights. And if you’ve never experienced Venice beach, it’s a must ! You have to check it out at least once. It’s always packed and crowded, but it’s a neat place.
My ultimate favorite restaurant is “Casa Vega” they have great Mexican food and drinks, as well. I’ve been there a handful of times with family and friends. We always have a blast and it’s a hot spot in Los Angeles. You can’t go wrong eating there ! And there’s so much to try from the food menu.
A classic food spot is also “Carney’s” for hot dogs and burgers. I enjoy a lot of their food and the atmosphere is really cool. It has that old school feel to it and it’s very unique.
Los Angeles also has a ton of great coffee shops and cafes to check out. Breakfast restaurants, anything you can think of. The city is your playground.
The shopping malls here are awesome too. Even just to go around and look at things.
Rodeo Drive is fun to check out and has cool locations and people. You will meet all sorts of people in Los Angeles. I love it here ! It’s home.
There’s so much more I could say, but you have to check it out and experience it all for yourself.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would have to say that my Family made a massive impact in my life and my career. My story would include my Family being a big part on the journey of acting. My Mother, Father, and younger Brother were there for me throughout this entire process. Ups and downs, they were always there to guide me and show love and encouragement. Even in the hardest times and moments of my life, they never gave up hope on me, and believed I could make anything possible. That support is extremely important when it comes to success. I am lucky to have such an awesome Family in my life. And also, learning the ropes of acting and the entertainment industry as a whole from my Mother and Father, was a blessing. It was like attending a free acting school growing up, having a household of actors around like that. My Cousin too, also being an actor himself, I looked up to him and his work and still do to this day (As well as both my parents, of course) and admired everything that was achieved in all three of their careers in Hollywood. I take pride in their achievements and talents. What they were able to do in their days. It gave me the fuel and motivation to do it, too. But without the support from them, I couldn’t imagine going far. I would’ve given up, I think. Having support from people you love, means everything and you can’t buy that. No money could buy that. Giving thanks where it’s due, is a must. And I thank them all for that. I thank them for their sacrifices in order to help guide me through the process of life. I also give thanks to my Foster Brother, who’s older than me. Who became Family to me, as a young teenager. He came into our home bringing a great energy and love. Someone I looked up to. And I still do, I appreciate everything he’s done for me. He never left my side and in my darkest days, he pulled me to the light. He’s an Angel and I am thankful to have him in my life. One of the most loyal people I know. He’s helped me in ways that he doesn’t even know. Having him and my younger brother in my life is special. That brings me peace. I couldn’t ask for any other brothers. And having parents to look up to and follow in the footsteps of, is an awesome thing. I cherish it all ! I also have had great mentors in my life and career, who’ve given me the best advice possible for a young man. I’ve listened and learned a lot from my mentors who understand me and my experiences and they’ve helped me grow and conquer a lot of my own personal problems. I appreciate the support from them over the years. And it will never go unnoticed.
