We had the good fortune of connecting with Brynja and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brynja, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Engaging the right people. People that inspire me. People that want to be apart of my journey and take the time to understand my vision.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
In my experience being a musician is a combination of enthusiasm and a lot of hard work. I wouldn’t say it’s easy, but I love what I do so in a way it is easy. My enthusiasm keeps me going.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
That is such a fun question. And actually my friends from the Netherlands are coming for a week to visit so it’s been on my mind.

The first thing I’d show anyone coming to Iceland are the swimmingpools. We have a lot of geothermally heated pools here in Iceland and I go every day.
The second place I’d show everyone that comes here is the restaurant Coocoo’s nest. Here comes the sad part; it closed in December. It was THE place to hang out in Reykjavík, they also had the best brunch in town. Blessed be their memory

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The people that shared my studio in Den Haag. Don’t know what my album would have been without them. Something very different. All of them deserve a big shout-out.
