Meet Camesha Gosha | Founder of Love, Camesha + P.O.P Society

We had the good fortune of connecting with Camesha Gosha and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Camesha, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea for my business grew from my own needs. I realized that I was giving way more to other people than I was giving to myself. I would be depleted when there was time and space to do something for myself. So, I started paying more attention to self-care and what that looked like for me. I found there were ways that I could incorporate it into my life that didn’t feel overwhelming and impossible. I knew there were other women in my shoes and my blog and lifestyle newsletter aims to meet women where they are while making self-care more accessible.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a creative, I always have my hands on a lot of things. I run two websites and a lifestyle newsletter. Love, Camesha is my lifestyle + self-care blog and The Black Mom Squad is a blog dedicated to moms – but it’s about more than motherhood. My lifestyle newsletter is the P.O.P Society. The acronym is for Progress Over Perfection. I really do believe the goal for all should be to just keep getting better and let go of the pressure of perfection. That’s the message of the newsletter. All of these projects keep me busy. What I’m most excited about right now is the newsletter. It’s my newest baby. It’s like a letter from a friend. It’s a quick weekly read to empower women to take care of themselves, live well, and be inspired. I’m excited to see where it goes.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my friend was coming to visit, the top of the list would be the beach. I really love Manhattan Beach and Laguna Beach. Maybe we’d go to the OC Fish Grill for jazz and dinner. Whale-watching tours are always fun so that would make the list. Taking a day trip to Catalina Island is never a bad idea. I like taking people to Balboa Island as well. My kids love the candy shop and ice cream shop with chocolate-covered frozen bananas. We’d definitely take a trip to San Juan Capistrano to have lunch at the Tea House on Los Rios. They’ve got great outdoor seating perfect for taking in the sights.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my friends who have continued to push, encourage and support me through each and every endeavor. They’ve provided constructive criticism and been a sounding board on many occasions. I am thankful.
