We had the good fortune of connecting with Camila Gutierrez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Camila, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to be able to be my own boss. I didn’t want to depend on other company’s to get work or live based on what there pay is. I wanted to do work that I love!! I want to be able to say I’m my own boss I have my own business and I can live off of what I can make .

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I say I’m a Creative Artist because I do more than one thing. From Film work to chalk art I love doing many things. I’ve been a chalk artist in my home town in Florida for over 5 years .
I do Cinematography work as well as editing and photography.
Moving to LA and starting to work in small productions is not easy. I joined a lot of Facebook groups and applied to different gigs as well as doing advertising on Instagram and giving out business cards. I’ve been to a few networking events I found on Facebook and Collaborations with other creatives. I think when moving to a big city like LA it’s a lot of social media influence and talking to other people to get a bigger network. I learned that in every job to leave in good terms and find a way for people to remember
You because you never know who is going to call you the next day .

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spots in the city I’m going to say is the beach I’m a sucker for watching sunsets at the beach! I Honestly haven’t fully explored every location In LA yet. I do like Pokemon Hunting down at Long Beach. . I would say I would take them to the beach for sure , find some street food during the day , Maybe The Broad museum since it’s free , I would take them hiking if there down at the Malibu State Park, I love camping at Yosemite National Park if my friends are down for 2-3 days camping out that’s definitely something to do!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
