Meet CARA aka Cara Quici | Singer/Songwriter & Cannabis Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with CARA aka Cara Quici and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi CARA, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’ve been on my own since a very young age. Every time I’d get a job growing up as a kid or young adult I’d always end up improving the business I was working in. I ended up being the worker the customers, co-workers, owners and management depended on, as well as the problem solver. Beginning my own businesses from my production company & music label, to cannabis companies is in my nature. These are my passions and talents so naturally these are my businesses! I was made to own and build companies.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art has always imitated my life. Since a young child I’ve always felt a need and urge to express myself in story and music. My 5th grade teacher Mrs. Flores told me I would be an author one day. I’ve always loved theatre and Broadway. I am a singer/songwriter & my music has been in rotation on TOP 40 radio Nationally as an independent artist through my own label. I’ve appeared on various TV shows and mainstream magazines. I am now writing my debut album CARA, Kush Kronicles, about my story of being a cannabis entrepreneur & becoming a public cannabis brand named CARA KUSH, and the many trials and tribulations that came along with the process. Kush Kronicles can easily become a movie. It’s a true and captivating story. What sets me apart from the rest is that I grow deep water culture hydroponics which is new to the commercial market. The first single off my album Kush Kronicles will drop simultaneously with the launch of CARA KUSH cannabis products across the State of California.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love to visit the many huge, hilly, green & grassy parks LA has to offer for my dogs, where I can also simultaneously catch a great outdoor work out and enjoy the fresh air. My favorite restaurants are Pump & SUR in West Hollywood, Brizo in Marina Del Rey and Nusr-Et Steakhouse in Beverly Hills. The food is to die for at these locations and I’m hungry just writing about them. For a quick lunch any Campos Tacos location will do! I live for the cheese enchilada combo with salsa & a large Agua de Jamaica. A yacht in Marina Del Rey is the perfect place to relax and enjoy yourself any day year round. My dogs and I love the Marina because of the natural wildlife including Sea Lions and Sea Birds, along with the various bird sanctuaries. Venice Canal walking is always a great pleasure with my pups & South Venice Beach is a great beach to avoid tourists and a secret Venice locals tip..ssshh! A walk in Santa Monica overlooking the Ocean and Pier is most peaceful. You can have a full day in Santa Monica & combine that scenic walk with a movie on Third Street Promenade and a shopping trip in Santa Monica Place which has everything including Louis Vuitton. There is also a great spa in Santa Monica named Radiance Wellness Spa. I Iove their intense yet holistic facials & infrared full body sauna treatments where I can zone out. I am a member so 1-day a month I enjoy that combination & I’d absolutely bring a house guest to enjoy the ZEN escape with me. As far as clinical skincare, Nassif Med Spa in Beverly Hills is the best in the business and I’m also a regular there. LA has spectacular museum choices and often have unique pop-ups to further the experience.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shout out my brothers Bryan & Alex, my business partners Darwin Damian, Michele Roland and Caroline Miller, as well as a music associate of mine, Wendy Starland and my fitness trainer & pro boxer Elvina White. I would also like to Shout Out an extremely talented music producer & artist who I just began creating with for my album, El Dusty. Last but not least, I’m shouting out a partner in my media & music company QMH, who is so creative, Nick Hrisomalos!
I’m also shouting out my close friend, Rocío aka Ro, who is also my Glam Artist. We love working together!
