We had the good fortune of connecting with carlos leal and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi carlos, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
Passion is THE drive. One can be interested in anything but if Passion is not present, it’ll be difficult to break barriers. Also, I learned not to take rejection personally. Being a professional actor demands a lot of patience and you have to accept the fact that not every role is for you.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Actors are given the chance to explore other human being souls. It’s a gift, and when well served it’s a possibility to understand people’s complexity and uniqueness. I had the chance to play so many different characters in so many different countries. I’m grateful for that and each one of those characters has given me a life lesson. To be an actor is not only to read your script and play the part. You have to be inspired by humans. It’s almost an anthropologist research for each character. That definitely jeeps you busy.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
-The Mexican market in the fashion district of Downtown. -Village Well books and coffee in Culver city
-Proper hotel bar in Santa Monica
– Bergamot station Art center
– Flea market Fairfax on Sundays
– El Segundo downtown main street
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family, my friends back in Paris and Switzerland and my US manager. When there’s support and trust from your community, you’ll always find the strenght to get up and fight for your purpose.
