We had the good fortune of connecting with Carolina Suero, C.Ht. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carolina, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?

One thing most people are unaware of is just how common hypnosis is. In fact, each one of us experiences different states of hypnosis/trance on a daily basis! Many people are also under the impression that therapeutic hypnosis (which is my focus) is only used for smoking cessation and weight loss. A major reason I’ve chosen to practice therapeutic hypnosis is because of its ability to help improve a person’s overall health and well-being.

Here are a few areas in which I’ve seen success using hypnotherapy: resolving issues with abandonment, trauma, stress & anxiety, fears & phobias, relationships, limiting beliefs & self-sabotaging behaviors. It’s also been used to help people manage pain and pre & post-surgery healing. It’s important to note that some conditions may require a consultation and referral from a licensed physician or mental health professional. A more comprehensive list of issues that hypnotherapy can help address can be found on my website.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

I love guiding my clients to achieve that ‘AHA’ moment where they break free from the limiting beliefs and unwanted behaviors that have been holding them back from being their authentic selves. When they realize that CHANGE is a CHOICE!

As someone who has spent a good portion of their life feeling anxious, struggling to set boundaries and find my voice, and unable to deal with emotions and trauma, therapeutic hypnosis changed my life. In the past I was living in a victim-mode mentality, afraid to speak up and always feeling like something was missing. I know firsthand how debilitating those negative thoughts and unwanted behaviors can be.

I also know the power and freedom that can be unlocked through hypnosis. It’s become my mission to empower and inspire my clients to step into the best version of themselves and live a life they love. I use a combination of therapeutic hypnosis and other modalities to help them align their conscious desire for change with their subconscious motivation, to make profound and lasting changes.

What you are most proud of or excited about? How did you get to where you are today professionally? Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way? What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?

One of the things I’m most excited about in doing this work is getting to witness my clients’ transformations. It’s truly an honor to be a part of their journey and I’m beyond proud of them.

Getting to where I am business-wise has definitely been an interesting journey! As an owner of a cloud-based bookkeeping firm, I already had an understanding of starting, running, and maintaining a business, knowing the importance of properly managing your funds and time, knowing when to delegate, networking regularly, and making sure your clients are happy and taken care of, etc. I’m very grateful to have had that experience.

Because hypnotherapy is such a powerful tool and can help with so many issues, my biggest challenge, so far, has been narrowing my focus. I wanted to help everyone! I still do, but I know that when I home in on specific areas, I’m able to make the most impact.

Through coaching and hypnotherapy sessions from my mentors, conversations with colleagues, internal reflection, and continuing to work with a variety of clients, I’ve been able to tune into where I do my best work and make the biggest impact. Which is working with individuals struggling to resolve issues with abandonment, stress & anxiety, worry & overwhelm, relationships, self-doubt & lack of confidence, limiting beliefs & self-sabotaging behaviors, or just feeling stuck/trapped. I’ve chosen to direct my energies toward these people, knowing that I can always change or expand my specialties in the future.

To people who are considering hypnotherapy, I would say if you’re ready and willing to make the change(s) you desire, and you are willing to show up and put in the effort, then Hypnotherapy is a GREAT tool to help you along your journey to achieving your dreams. It’s safe, natural, efficient, and effective. It’s also relaxing!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

We’d spend the first day visiting the typical tourist spots in Hollywood, Downtown LA, Santa Monica Pier, & Venice Beach. We’d catch an afternoon Dodger game and a concert at the Hollywood Bowl. We’d take a day trip out to Catalina Island on the second day. The next day, we’d hike up Temescal Canyon and then spend some time at the Self Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine. Grab brunch somewhere with a rooftop view. Afterward, we’d visit the Getty or the Getty Villa (both have great views) and then head down to Rancho Palos Verdes for a sunset picnic.

Next, I’d take them to the Huntington Library and stroll around their beautiful gardens. From there, we’d head up to Paso Robles for a night or two and visit different wineries (we’d have a designated driver, of course). Thacher and Hammersky are two of my favorite wineries/vineyards. In the evening, we’d do the Sensorio light show. If there is time on the way back to LA, we’d do a quick tour of the Hearst Castle. The day before they leave, we’d do yoga or pilates in the morning and then get a massage or have a spa day.

As far as dining and drinking – that’s hard to pick from as there are so many choices! But definitely a trip to Porto’s Bakery for pastries, 26 Beach Restaurant for a fun brunch, Uovo in Marina Del Rey for some fresh pasta with a pretty view of the marina. We’d grab burgers from Electric Owl and/or Shaka Shack Burgers and make sure to squeeze in some time at the Casablanca Restaurant for their fresh tortillas and a margarita. We’d be spoiled on a daily basis with a good espresso or latte, courtesy of my husband.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Oh, where to begin?! First, a big shoutout to my parents and siblings for loving and supporting me, especially when some of the decisions I made in the past did not make any sense. Second, a shoutout to all my friends, clients, instructors, and mentors, particularly Dr. John McGrail, for his guidance & support which changed the course of my life. I would also like to give a shoutout to the following writers for sharing their wisdom with the world: Louise L. Hay, Dr. Joe Dispenza, Brene Brown, Ram Das, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Bruce Lipton, Neville Goddard, Eckhart Tolle, and the Foundation for Inner Peace (A Course in Miracles). Last, but certainly not least, the biggest shoutout goes to my AMAZING husband and life partner, Eddie Suero, who is always there for me.
