We had the good fortune of connecting with Carolyn Ceballos and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carolyn, how do you think about risk?
Taking chances and risks runs through my veins. I’ve always been a risk taker even as a child. Taking a risk to achieve a goal requires courage to face the fear of uncertainty. No matter the outcome, either way, we grow through the process & become more resilient & confident. Better yet, building those skills helps in taking more risks and improves chances of achieving goals. The unlimited upside potential of a business that actually takes off is more interesting than a job you know what’s going to happen at the end of the year. I get bored quite easily so i thrive from constantly being out of my comfort zone owning my own business. Put it this way- im stressed when im not in a state of stress.

“You gotta risk it to get the biscuit!”

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
If you couldn’t already tell- I am a little obsessed with flawless brows. I began offering brow treatments when I was 14 years old. Originally tweezing the eyebrows of my high school classmates. I made the decision to turn my casual passion into a professional business while pursuing a degree in environmental science at College of the desert. For more than 5 years I have been helping clients elevate their natural beauty in my Palm Desert studio located within House of Style.

Passionate about empowering the lives of both my clients and students, I have serviced over 2,000 clients and trained over 100 incoming beauty professionals since the start of my rewarding career in the competitive brow industry. My passion and love for the beauty industry comes from being able to help women feel beautiful.

“You’ve given me back so much confidence,” My clients say-and that’s the single most important thing to me.

It’s what motivates me to achieve the best result for every single person who walks into my room. Over the past few years i has accumulated an organic following of over 14,000 people on Instagram. By not caring about other peoples opinions and just being myself and show in my art. While i continue to grow my personal brand Brows by CC and product lines. I also continue to sharpen my expertise to stay up to date on the industry’s ever-changing aesthetic techniques by never thinking i am the best. There is always someone better than you. That is what motivates me to continue my education within the industry.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Palm Desert/Palm Springs is my current and home town. I brag about it every second i get a chance to. I love to hike, bike and EAT!

The most optimal months to plan a Palm Springs weekend getaway are November through April. During this time the weather tends to stay in the 70s and 80s, which is actually a wonderful temperature for your sunny retreat.

Joshua Tree National Park. You may want to add a day or two for exploring all the best things to do in Joshua Tree too since the town is full of great things to do along with all the natural beauty and scenery of the National Park. Located just 38 miles away, it only takes just under an hour to drive from Palm Springs to Joshua Tree.

Brunch at Keedys – a local fav, its a hidden hole in the wall restaurant with an extensive menu, which means there is something for everyone. The best part are the milkshakes and Chicken n Waffle plate!

Palm Springs Areal tramway – Other than dining, there are a lot of activities to be done here. Visitors can enjoy a day hiking, going on guided nature walks, or even spend a night camping here. During the winter months, there are a whole lot of family fun snow activities as well, which is an interesting contrast to be on a snowy mountain top in the middle of the desert!

Tahquitz Canyon – This short desert hike leads you to a hidden waterfall oasis perfect for cooling off at on a hot day!
Tahquitz Canyon is apart of the Cahuilla Indian Reservation and is easily one of the most beautiful sights in all of Palm Springs. While here, visitors can explore their seasonal waterfall, which is about 60 feet long, as well as all of the beautiful nature and wildlife within the canyon.

Living Desert Zoo and Gardens – being an animal lover i was an intern here working with the animals for about a year.
You won’t want to miss a day at the zoo and the giraffe feedings.

Coachella Valley Preserve – Great hiking trails and exhibits to explore. A great place to start is at the Preserve’s visitor center in the Paul Wilhelm Grove. The Thousand Palm Oasis is also a popular stop.

Palm Springs Village Fest –
Every Thursday night, you can hang out with locals and tourists at the Palm Springs Village Fest in the downtown area. Palm Canyon Drive, between Indian Canyon Drive and Belardo Road, turns into a pedestrian street fair with over 180 vendors.
My fav spot to take my dog and walk with views of the mountains in the backdrop.

CV Link – is a 40-plus-mile bicycle pathway that is being built largely along the Whitewater River, and it extends from Palm Springs to Coachella. CV Link provides a continuous transportation and recreation route connecting the Coachella Valley cities.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
A small-town girl with high goals and unachievable dreams of being a woman who achieved them, the journey has been a mixed bag of feelings. A mixed bag of hopes and disappointments, victories and failures, doubts and confidence, criticism, and validation. There were many obstacles on the way. Some broke me to the point that I was ready to give up. But there were some things that would not let me.

I thank my younger self for focusing on the goal and not the hurdles. But no matter how self-sufficient I was, I could not achieve anything without the loving and unconditional support of my parents and close friends specifically – Emily Reyes who never left my side and pushed me into the fire to reach my full potential she was and still is one of the main pillars of support. She gave me the courage and confidence to overcome any obstacle. I thank God for their guidance, support and love.

To everyone who has been a part of my life and a part of this wild journey, I wholeheartedly thank you and express my gratitude.
